Dallas is the largest city in America not on a major water-way.
Clearly you've never heard of the mighty Trinity River.;)

Don Meredith is the only native Texan to ever quarterback the Cowboys.

Texas "Tex" Schramm was from California.

Tom Landry violently crash landed after his B-17 ran out of gas during a bombing mission in WWII, his co-pilot was mortally wounded but Landry was unscathed.

Jay Novacek had a mustache, look it up.

The Cowboys have won eight straight when Terence Newman has an interception.

Adam? You're made for this thread; I know you're full of statistics and facts.

Dallas is the only major city that has in in excess of a million people that isn't on a major water way. (oh, you mean Dallas Cowboys!) :laugh2:

Wow, I knew we had a huge advantage in head-to-head records over the other NFC East teams, but I did not realize our Division Title record was nearly equal with all the other teams combined --> Cowboys 20, Giants/Eagles/Commanders 23.

Hopefully soon to be 21-23, btw. ;)
Makes ya proud don't it? :D

:D I should have been more specific. But hey, I'll take anything related to the city of Dallas!

Cliff Harris and Mel Renfro had matching hair cuts.

The Cowboys hold the all time record for the longest time to make a decision on a Draft pick. In 1964 when their turn in the 2nd round came up they took 6 and a half hours before they chose Mel Renfro.

The reason it took so long? Renfro had been a RB at Oregon. He punched a mirror after learning of the assassination of President Kennedy and did nerve damage to his hand. The Cowboys sent a Doctor to inspect his hand.

Vince Lombardi mockingly asked the Cowboys if their computer had broken.

Amazing. Never knew that!

The Dallas Cowboys are the only team who beat the Miami Dolphins in the year of 1972.

Danny Villanueva was a kicker for the Cowboys in the late 60's and wore number 11. This was when Tom used to have the kicking team get in a three point stance on the kick off.

After his playing career, Danny founded Bastion Capital Corporation, the nation’s first Hispanic owned buyout fund whose major acquisition was Telemundo Television Network. He sold it to NBC in 2002. The price--

Over $2 billion dollars.

Clint Longley actually worked for my dad's construction company back in Abilene after his playing days in Dallas were over. He didn't last too long their either. :)

I figured by now someone would have piped up and mentioned the only jersey number never issued by the Cowboys...

Horrible things happen when I wear my dark blue Tony Romo jersey.

the cowboys have had 4 number one overall picks start for them in the past decade.

Johnson

In the Cowboys first year they played in the northern division.

Nope, they played in the Western Division in 1960 we were moved to the Eastern Division the following year. There were only 2 divisions in the NFL until 1967 when they broke it into 4 and we were in the "Capitol" Division.

The other divisions all started with "C" as well: Century, Coastal, & Central. In 1967 the Saints were in the Capitol Division instead of the Giants but they swapped them in 1968, then swapped them back again in 1969. in 1968 the Capitol Division had the same 4 teams that are in the NFC East now.

After the merger in 1970, there were 3 divisions in each conference: East, Central & West and it stayed that way until 2002.

The Cowboys started playing in 1960, but were not in the same division as their current rivals. They were moved to the NFL East in 1961. The Cowboys have had constant Division rivalries with the Eagles and Commanders since 1961.

They would have the same claim with the Giants but in 1967 the Giants and Saints swapped divisions. In 1968 they swapped back. In 1969 they swapped again. From 1967 through 1969 the Division was called the Capital Division. The Cowboys are the only Champion the NFL Capital Division ever had.

In 1970 the merger created the NFC East and all 3 of these rivals have been in the same division with the Cowboys ever since.

The Cardinals were in the same division from 1961 through 2001 when the current realignment put them in the NFC West.

In 1982 the NFL did away with Divisions for the season due to the players strike.

That is 47 years of rivalry with the Eagles and Commanders not counting this year.

45 years with the Giants, not counting this year.

40 years with the Cardinals.

In 1964 and 1965 the Cleveland Browns won the Division crown. That means 45 of the 47 years one of the NFC East teams was the Division Champion.

Dallas has 20 Division Championships including 6 in a row from 1966 to 1971.

The Cardinals had 2 Division titles.

The Giants have 10.

The Eagles have 7.

The Commanders have 6, the same number as Dallas' longest streak.

I want #21 badly.

I responded before I saw your post Hos.
