On Offense we need upgrades at:
RB, WR's 2 & 3, RT, RG. so there is five spots there. And THAT is based on Beebe and Guyton improving. Seven if they do not

On Defense we need upgrades at:
DT- both spots. TWO here
DE probably need to replace Lawrence, if Kneeland developes then ONE here
LB Kendricks is not the answer for more than this year and Liafu is a big question mark, At least ONE here
CB Diggs is frankly a disappointment. But we are stuck with him for the time being. Carson is a maybe. So lets say ONE here.
Safeties: both need to be replaced but you cannot have everything. Might be decent if the rest of the D is better.
SO there is FIVE here and that is the MINIMUM. Honestly you could go for eight.

So we need between 10 and 18

Anyone like to chime in?
Reminds me of the scene in Ghostbusters when Ray rolls up with the future Ecto-1...

There's positions all over that could be upgraded, however if you prioritize 3 that would make the most impact:

RB
OT
DT

If the Cowboys could get those positions figured out you would see a much improved team with more balance. It's all about building in the trenches and having a balanced offense that compliments all phases.

There is no way to address all of the needs via the draft. So what do dumb and dumber propose to do? They won't use FA. They won't use trades.

The answer will be similar to this offseason. Improve from within and hope for a home run in the 2025 draft.

Hang on to your seats folks.

positions that need upgrade....where to start..

DT - at least two
DE - Lawrence is cooked. injury prone. time to go. Parson is not a DE, he is forced to be one
LB - two, Overshown is servicable, but we need at least two more
Safties - at least 2, I am not sure what it is they are doing, they are so bad
CB - at least one for depth.
LT - move Guyton out of LT position to RT, get rid of steele
Guard - Martin's replacement
RB - need I say more?
WR2, WR3 - Turpin sucks....just good for returns. Tolbert is benefiting from CD double teams. and he is catching balls during garbage time.
TE - screw schoon. he needs to be cut. what a boneheaded mistake. we need some depth at least or Fergi replacement as he will be FA

Coach - Head Coach, OC, DC, all of them must go

GM - fire himself already

If we only replaced Dak, this team would still stink. Look at that defense, yikes!

Hec, I think almost every player on the Cowboys could be upgraded, except the kicker. No one is untouchable, not a one of them. Hec, I'd entertain offers for CeeDee too. If someone is willing to give up multiple 1sts, I'd take it. While we have a Dead Coach Walking who is certainly not going on a deep playoff run, they should just start the rebuild now. Find a new HC and find some new players. No single player is going to solve all this team's problems.

You upgrade the QB and this list gets cut in half…
actually you could have Mahomes here with the current situation and we would be probably one game better; maybe two but still not all that. There are just too many holes in two many places in this roster.

Just address the trenches this next offseason and the rest will look better. It won’t be fixed but it will be better. Then address linebackers and RB’s the next offseason. It can’t be fixed in one or two years but start with the trenches. Oh, and new coaches.

just fixing the lines would make a huge difference. AND just ONE GOOD RB.

Great, great assessment. For those that thought that we should have been getting just a WR or RB before the trade line is way too little too late.

Getting one or two players first this season is like putting a bandaid on a full hemorrhage

Tolbert is prime time I’m sorry but WR is way down my list of team needs . And in stretches Turpin is effective . And how about the much anticipated 6th rounder this year you can’t find on game day with binoculars .

The Cowboys need a RT a RB Edge and DT a Mike LB with size & violence to his game . Let’s plug these holes Jerry .

Quarterback and offensive and defensive lines.
Without a quarterback change, any other change would be wasted.
Just like Jason Garrett, it didn't matter who the Cowboys signed; as long as he was head coach, every pposition was wasted.
Dak is Garrett 2.0.
