I was just looking at the potential cap space for nest year.
Right now after the Ware cut we have and designate Miles we have right around 8.5 million according to over the cap.

Right now without signing any other players we have right around 29,665,427 million cap space in 2015 according to overthecap.com

There was a reason why Dallas didn't restructure Witten and Carr I think they look at their salary and see where they can release next year and save money.

If we cut the following players next off season we add a lot of cap space.
Witten will save 3,276,000
Free will save 7 million
Carr will save 566,000
Orton will save 3,372,000

bring our cap savings next year to a total of $42,919,927 in cap space next off season with the above cuts.

There's a huge difference in cutting Ware and Austin and cutting Witten. Won't happen...

sounds great, but then we won't have hardly any good players and will have desperate needs at OT, QB (if we didn't already), TE, and DB….and we don't have but so many draft picks…..which frankly are about as prone to bust as FAs

I would keep all those guys, to be honest. Orton is a great backup. Free needs to be replaced but our O-line is a strength and cutting him without a proper replacement would be dumb. Carr has a bad contract but cutting him would barely save anything. And Witten isn't costing too much. I still think he's a very good TE in this league.

Dallas doesnt need to release Free, his contract voids after this yr. so does ortons. thats 10.3 mil that will be added. And Dallas isnt going to release Witten.

I think the Skins the last 2 years with 18m penalties, and you guys and the steelers this year being xx million over 2 months ago proves that the cap is hardly a limit of anything. If a FO is getting the guys they want, they will make the cap fit their needs.

Hopefully whatever cap space we end up having isn't burning a hole in Jerry's pocket and decides to make any more bad deals.

All that cap room will disappear fast when Dez Bryant and Tyron Smith get new mega-deals.

correct. Which mean Dallas will need to do more cutting next year. Here are few players that might not be worth their contracts

Cap Number for 2015:
1) Brandon Carr - 12.7 million
2) Doug Free - 11 million (I thought Dallas reduced that horrible contract)
3) Jason Witten - 8.5 million (possibly most popular player in Dallas since Super Bowl teams)
4) Morris Claiborne - 5.1 million (would he even start if he wasn't drafted in top 6 picks)

After that everything else looks reasonable.

I'd keep Witt. He seems like the kind of guy that would retire bc he can't play anymore at a high level instead of riding it out for paychecks

Which is exactly why Witten and Carr will not be going anywhere. $30 million in cap space in 2015 will allow us to totally overhaul any position we want if we need to, to include extending Dez, Tyron, and DeMarco if we feel so inclined.

Agree. Remember I said potential never said we should. Just to inform.
