I don't want to see our defense named after a former defense no matter how great it was. Those players should be remembered as the only "doomsday defense" not passed down to continuing Cowboy defenses. Our current defensive players deserve their own nickname but naming them can wait until we set how they play this year. Remember, they have to have a great defense not just a good one. The "electric company" doesn't turn me on probably because it used elsewhere. Also don't like the Brady Gang; name of our defense shouldn't carry the name of just one individual but inclusive for all.
The "steel curtain" was appropriate for the Steelers cause they were the Pittsburg Steelers but also because that city was known for its production of steel. Don't have a clue how the Vikings were named the "purple people eaters...." Does anybody remember any other nicknames other great NFL defenses carried? What were the Rams called back when they were in LA and had so many great DL?
Since I don't/never have lived in Dallas or Texas & since we are the Dallas Cowboys, what is Dallas or Texas particularly known for besides girls, cows, money, oil & the Cowboys? Come on, put on your thinking caps and come up with something original & eyecatching. It can be a play on words like another name for a cattle drive, rodeo, Texas two-step, 3-4 defense, etc. But it's got to be something original. Something befitting "America's team". Of course, we can wait til we see whether our defense deserves a name unique to it before we declare it one of the greatest defenses in NFL history.
