I legitimately think either the Lions or Commanders can upset the Seahawks in the first round. Seattle isn't the same since losing Thomas and Chancellor. And their o-line is a mess. As is their running game.
My official prediction: we play whoever is the 6 seed cause they will beat the Seahawks.

Losing Lockett was also really bad for them. He was a legit weapon and was finally healthy and beginning to ball.

Kam Chancellor injury isn't serious

The Lions have no chance to beat Seattle

I would give the Skins a punchers chance for sure

Seattle isn't very good...we will crush them, if they are lucky enough to even get to face us

They are much tougher to beat at home. I think they win their wild card home game against the Commanders or Lions.

That's not true. The number 1 seed plays the lowest seed that's left. So if the 3 and 5 seed win Dallas plays the 5 seed. If 3 and 4 then Dallas plays the 4 seed. If 5 and 6 wins Dallas would play 6 seed. If 4 and 6 wins then Dallas plays 6 seed
Im pretty sure the person you quoted just made a mistake saying highest because everything else is exactly what you said.

That is what I meant by highest seed.

Just look at it like this:

The team with the worst regular season record that wins in the wildcard round comes to Dallas.
The only team Dallas would NOT play is Seattle. Everyone else is fair game....

And yes, technically it would be the lowest seeded team remaining. Playoff seedings are referenced where the top team in the conference is given the highest seed. NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA all use the same descriptors...

It's like intelligence has fled the scene for half the posters in this thread.

How can anyone not understand playoff seeding?

Then you meant lowest seed
If you go numerically it is highest seed, it is confusing, #1< #6, the expectation and desire to be right is not lost on me, both our ideas conform to the truth. It is an ambiguous english idiom, thanks for your understanding and not making this into a bigger deal when we are in the glory days of pre playoffs harmony and tranquility. My apologies to your perceptiveness. I appreciate my cowboyszone brother your opinions and insights Irvin88. Cheers

Cowboy fans have seen little playoff success over the last 20 years. I think a refresher course on playoff seeding is in order.

I think Washington gets in as the 6th seed. Thus it'll be Was@Seattle and Giants@Packers imo. Divisional round will be Giants@Dallas and Seattle@Atlanta. NFCCG will be Seattle@Dallas. I'm just not a believer in Atlanta. I think Seattle will surprise. As for Packers losing to Giants, they've done it before and aren't scared of Rodgers.

Anyways...back to the bracket...here would be an amazing scenario

Packers beat Lions

Skins beat Hawks

Packers beat Giants

Dallas beats Skins

Packers beat Falcons

Packers @ Cowboys nfc championship

Wed walk to the super bowl

Um...Rodgers is more than capable of shredding our D. That would be a shoot out. I'd rather get Atlanta.

re: Atlanta - Odds are that Ryan reverts to his previous playoff self -- the guy who folds under the pressure of it all.

re: The Giants / Packers -- twice in the last 10 years the Giants have gone into Lambeau in the playoffs and beat Green Bay.

Everybody has the right to their opinion and anything is possible once in the playoffs but in my mind Seattle will be lucky to get out of wild card weekend. I agree Atlanta will struggle though

Our defense is shutting teams down. I bet GB has 21 or less points

Besides we already beat them in GB where they scored 16 points

My only concern with Atlanta and Green Bay is the that Cowboy's defense is ranked 24th in pass defense (by QB rating) and 27th (by yards allowed).

IN order of our easiest to toughest matchups imo: Detroit, Seattle, Atlanta, Giants, Commanders, Packers. I put Seattle behind Lions due to experience. Commanders can flat out score. Giants are a division opponent. Packers have the best QB in a controlled climate.

We beat them at a different time though. They were struggling. I'm going by what Rodgers has done the last month.
