I think Duckett is woefully overrated and was coming out of college. He'd be a better LB than RB, IMHO. Granted that any Denver RB can be somewhat effective so it may help him at least hold onto an NFL job. He could be a Mike Anderson type but minus the toughness.

Lelie is a young WR with some real raw skills but those guys tend to get better with age as opposed to RBs who tend to tail off. Depending upon what the draft picks are it could be a very good deal for all 3 teams. NE needs a threat at WR and the open space that system affords WRs could benefit Lelie greatly. Bethel Johnson was the main speed threat for NE but just got shipped off.

I don't think Duckett remains on the Falcs roster. He is a former 1st rounder with a decent-sixed expiring and no future with the team.
Lelie has about the same type contract and situation which is why he is being jettisoned. There is no argument as to which player holds more value: its Lelie.

They already have two first round WRs underachieving. Why would they add a third in Lelie?
As long as Vick is thier qb the Falcons will never have a wr putting up big numbers for a season. Crumpler is his security blanket.

No way, no shape, no how. Duckett is good but nowhere near 2k good. Not even behind Denver's line.

When it comes to running backs, never go against Shanahan, besides, I think he sees Duckett as his short yardage and red zone guy. They already have the home run guy in Tatum Bell.

If Atlanta fan's current opinions are correct, Duckett has no "second gear", is not a very good receiver, and mailed in his last 5 games the previous year.

Of course, your grandma could run for 1000 in Shanahan's offense.

David.
Duckett is also a horrible blocker. The Falcons are trying to move him. The trade doesn't make much sense though. Why wouldn't the Falcons just trade Duckett for Lelie. The need WR's badly.

In Roddie White, the Falcons already have a Lelie type. Tall, sure-handed receivers seem to work best with Vick. I don't know if fast guys with uncertain hands help him much.

Alex Gibbs coaches the line in Atlanta now. They have the same exact zone blocking scheme the Broncos do. T.J. Duckett can't cut well enough to be great in that system. He's a straight line runner. To be honest, I consider him a 25% better Troy Hambrick. Just my opinion of course, but I wouldn't take him over Barber for our backup.
