Power Tool Brand Thread

Depends on the item, in my opinion. I have a quality DeWalt Drill that I love dearly, but an impact driver that burned out in two months. Currently getting it repaired at the DeWalt Service Center. I did buy a Makita Impact at Home Depot for $99 this month and it's been stellar. Milwaukee Drills have served me well too in the past. Most of my saws are Makita as well and they have been awesome. I use my reciprocating saw to do all kinds of stuff around the house, including pruning trees and other things. My most used tool however, I paid $18.99 for at Harbor Freight. Just a small little oscillating tool from Chicago Electric. It sands, cuts, and all sorts of other stuff. Don't know where I'd be at in my home projects without it.

People sleep on the house brand at Home Depot as well. Ridgid delivers some quality products at an affordable price point.

Had a neighbor that bought all his tools and such at Harbor Freight. I am needing a leaf blower, didn't know if I should buy it from there.

Depends on what your needs are. Most of the lawn equipment that HF sells like that is electric/battery operated. I'm surrounded by trees, so it's imperative that I have a nice gas powered blower with some power to move some leaves.

I buy almost all of my hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc) from HF because the savings is stupid awesome. But when it comes to power tools, I only buy from there if it's a product I know I'm going to use roughly and often, so if it breaks down, I'm not at a huge loss in terms of investment. HF has some good stuff though. My electric hedge trimmer I just bought from there has been amazing.

Pretty minor needs really. I actually have an older different brand one currently. Batteries are not lithium ion (blanking on the name of the type right now). Have 2 batteries that hold about a combined 10 minutes of charge. Was looking for a replacement and was considering buying one from there. Recently a store opened up in my town.

Rigid does have some quality products. I have a Rigid wet/dry vac that works as well, if not better than the Shop-Vac it replaced, without having to remove the filter and stuff to convert to wet vac.

Check the prices wherever you go, then look for the same model on eBay, and see if you can get a new one at a much better price.
