He needs to go after this season.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he retires after this season, but if he keeps playing well he is absolutely an asset to this team this year. Perhaps another major injury (we know there will be an injury of some sort) will be the impetus for him calling it quits. Or perhaps he is a potential swing tackle next year if he is another year older and his health means he can’t be a FT guy for a full season. But since the topic is this year he is a big part of how well the team does this year IMO. Hopefully his inevitable injury comes mid-season and he is healthy enough to play and play well in the playoffs.

Funny how rankings matter, or not, based on opinions.
I'll keep the top ranked pass blocker in the lineup until he needs a few
games to rest up. His salary is VERY team friendly, so, you're just wrong there.

I get it though, Roy. You always want new blood. Dude has been around forever.
At least you don't have to complain about Zeke anymore... lol
I want a dependable replacement. Yep, young blood. Tired of having our seasons dependent on this guy. Hes great when he plays he just always gets hurt.

what is his salary this year?

I would love him as a swing tackle.

This I was going to say, he handled Bosa pretty good and on the right side.
Thank you both for pointing this out. Bosa will not play a single snap against Tyron in three weeks. He will go to the other side and try Steele. As long as Tyron stays healthy he will be one of the two or three best tackles in the game. As he's a little older it takes him a little longer to get loosened up but once he does it's classic Tyron making the guy across from him into David Blaine.

$8 million which ranks him 17th among left tackles.

To add to this, he has a chance to make up the "cut" salary based off playing time and team success based off bonuses that would hit next years cap.

Playing time incentives, $1 million for each: 50%, 55% 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%
Each playoff win he gets 500k.

So, he could take home 17mil this year if he stays healthy and wins the superbowl.

3mil base salary + 3mil signing bonus + 11mil in above incentives.

Due to him missing most of last year, the 11mil in possible incentives would count on the 2024 cap. And due to the redoing of his contract, he currently has a dead cap hit of 6mil for 2024.
So, if he at least plays 90% of the season, his dead cap next year will be 15mil.
Probably a good reason why Dallas freed up a lot of cap space this year to roll into next year.

Check out OvertheCap.com to see what every player on every team is slated to be paid for the duration of their contract.
I believe you. He's worth that no doubt. I would then like to see them treat him like a swing tackle. Get a legit starter at guard. Maybe Bass or Richards is THAT guy. Play Tyron when he is healthy.

Plenty of armchair GMs wanted him traded to the Jets two years ago.
Fools.

Idiots. Now if they were saying that about Zeke, they were on point. I think that was about 30% of us. I said Pollard was better than Zeke his rookie year.

It was pretty comical on the draft boards how half of our fan base wanted him off the roster and labeled him a has been.

Glad to see he’s returned to form.

But I read he was finished even when healthy a few weeks ago, goes to show how disconnected from reality some people are.
Shows how much fans don't know. Listen to players talk about him and they all say the same thing. He might be injured but when he gets back on the field he's the same guy who dominates them
