It's weird but Gates came to mind last night watching Rico play.......let's hope he stays more healthy then Gates but I would take that production for sure

I agree and Gates was a beast and injury free when he was younger. Very similar running styles as well. Getting way ahead but man from Witten to a Gates type of TE ...man that would be special. I really think this kid has "it" and is going to be special.

I know its just one game but the TD cemented his spot on the roster imo. The boys drafted this kid to take Witten's place and Rico and the team both knew this wasn't going to be something they had to rush. Just my opinion here reading through the tea leaves but if things continue to progress next year I could see a Gates/Henry type of role. I knew when he grabbed that TD there was a smile on your face!

I think they have to find a way to keep him too. Looks like four TE's. This 53-man roster is going to be tight, especially when Moore and then Irving, come back from suspension.

Which is huge and you know Witten is teaching him the right way.

Every time I hear Broaddus talk about his quickness out of breaks I remind myself that Rico is 275. His ability to run at that speed is astounding.

That's a fair statement.

Maybe Rico will watch him and learn how to be a pro. Perhaps see Witten in his blocking and what not. Rico has a ton of potential so I guess I'm hoping he will succeed were others failed like Fasano, Bennett and Escobar for example. Maybe we don't find that TE replacement until after Witten retires. Be great for Dakota to have his own young TE to grow with
