Was there a Practice Squad thread and I missed it? Please move this if so, but this will be an interesting thing to watch today. Will McClay is the smartest guy in our FO so he is very likely to find some gems. Plus we have some very interesting developmental guys like Showers and Tim Scott.

These is my picks for the Practice Squad:

QB Showers, Jameill

QB Vaughan, Dustin

WR Harwell, Nick

RB Johnson, Gus

OT Gibson, Laurence

C McDermott, Shane

LB Smith, Keith (or waiver pickup if Smith makes the team over Brinkley)

DE Obada, Efe (we do get an 11th PS spot for him, right?)

S Scott, Tim

DT Waiver pickup

CB Waiver Pickup

I believe any waiver player we add to the PS will have to be added to the 53, cut and if he clears waivers put on PS

I think both guys still have upside and both guys end up on a PS somewhere, but I would definitely go with Showers if I only had to pick one. I'll go way out on a limb with 99% of Cowboy fans on that one.

Yeap I would go Showers as well.

No, that is only if you are signing a player from another team's practice squad.

The players that are cut now will be on waivers for 24 hours. If they are not claimed (added to a 53 man roster) then they are free agents that can sign on as a practice squad player with any team. It's the player choice at that point.

As a PS QB, I'd take Shane Carden (cut by Bears) over Vaughn. Not sure about Showers though. His upside is intriguing.

The "Tim White" was Tim Scott, which is a good move IMO. Now we need Harwell, McDermott and Lawrence Gibson from our roster plus whatever nuggets Will McClay can uncover.

They certainly appear to be taking a lot of time. They must be going after players from other teams. Didn't I read this is the first year they can guarantee contracts to PS players or something like that? That could be playing a role here as to why it's taking so long to announce the PS. In past years, it was done by now.

Per Brandon George, Only one Cowboys 2015 draft pick didn't make 53-man roster: OL Laurence Gibson. Also looks like club won't re-sign him on practice squad.

Agree with McDermott and Harwell.
