I realize the PS is a fluid situation but shouldn't we have finalized the 10 players by now. All I can find is 8. We are practicing for the giants this week. Right?

It's gonna be a fluid thing. Chances are the players on the list today won't be the same two weeks from now.

Zack Moore must be mulling other offers or the contract they are offering is more detailed and taking longer to get done. They are probably pouring over everything they have to fill that 10th spot or saving it for someone once they make a move after week 1 or for when D comes back in week 5.

Good Old Zack must have several iron's in the fire it seems. This wouldn't be the first time someone pulled a bait and switch.

Might need to sign him to the 53 !!!!!!!!!

Maybe other offers, but the practice squad contract ($$$) is set by the NFL/NFLPA agreement.

Hopefully, they are trying to determine if Tapper is available for Sunday. If not, sign Moore to the 53 and get rid of someone. Like JJ.

No, teams can pay practice squad players as much as they want to pay them. See Ron Leary as a rookie. Teams occasionally pay ps players the same salary as a rookie on the 53. It is normally a QB if it happens.

The base salaries for draft picks and rookie UDFAs on the roster is set by the NFL, but once a player is released and clears waivers he is a free agent.

I am glad Gathers made it to the practice squad. Looking at our backup tight ends, I think most are at most backups. So someway that position will need to be addressed soon with Jason's age. I am not sure if Gathers ever turns out into a football player, but I like taking chances due to his size, athleticism and potential skill set. Having that project to work with and see how he develops daily, weekly, and monthly is intriguing. Now he can do it away from the publicity as he is only a practice squader. Hopefully he earns the chance to stay on the PS all year and we get to see if we have anything next training camp.

I am also glad Andy Jones is on the practice squad. He has the measurables. Whether he can play NFL receiver is another question but again he is another guy made for the practice squad.

Thank you. Saved me the trouble of explaining that to him.

I think they add a DT and a DB, with Rodney Coe a likely candidate.

Why does Da

Just looked it up - you are correct. There is a minimum salary of $6300 per week, not guaranteed. There is no ceiling; theoretically, a team can release a player and sign him back (after waivers) for the same $ contract. Doubt it's ever happened, but possible.

Or, he was in Minnesota and needed a few days to get here after being cut. Nobody is sending a charter flight or movers to get these guys. Best case scenario if he drove that maybe he got here Monday. Entirely possible that he didn't have a chance to get his physical yet.

The Cowboys offered the full rookie salary to a QB several years ago to stay on the ps but he declined and went to another team.
