The Chiefs cut QB Hogan from Stanford. I would consider him on the PS. Any PS list would have to have a QB or two, I would think. You constantly need to develop these young QBs. If Aaron Murray doesn't sign with anyone, I would consider adding him to the PS.

I think Olatoye is too slow,he might be OK in the Zone but Texans knew he cant keep up with their Receivers at all.

Who do you hope we try to keep on the PS?

The roster is not set, there will be several moving parts in all likelihood, and I expect Jameill Showers will get cut at some point to go on the Practice Squad.

1. OT Bryan Witzmann (I'd like OT Laurence Gibson but the team may not)
2. C/G Jake Brendel
3. TE Rico Gathers
4. TE Austin Traylor
5. WR Andy Jones
6. DL Lawrence Okoye
7. DT Rodney Coe
8. DT Zach Wood
9. LB Deon King
10. CB Deji Olatoye

It was technique problems that causes him to get beat. His speed is good enough if he plays with proper technique. He looked decent in the 1st three games but looked lost at times against Houston. He still had some snaps where his coverage was really good in that game.

If he can't play in the NFL, I think it is more lack of mental ability than lack of physical ability.

Was afraid of this. Jenkins outplayed everyone on the DL when given an opportunity (especially without a lot of prep time with system) and this was a poor way to reward his effort. Especially when guys who have not been able to play, never mind perform to his level, are still on the roster.

Jenkins may never amount to anything, but rewarding performers is a much better policy than protecting draft/FA "assets" who have underperformed/unable to perform, no matter what the industry.
I don't think you understand the process. By reaching an injury settlement with Jenkins, the Cowboys have a chance to get him back during the season. At the same time, he is able to sign with any other team. It is to their mutual advantage to handle it this way rather than putting him on season ending IR.

He can sign with another team 6 weeks earlier than he can re-sign with the Cowboys.

It is 6 weeks plus the time of the injury settlement before he can return to the Cowboys.

He can sign with another team at any time, there is no waiting period.

If he returns sooner than the injury settlement period, Dallas receives a salary cap credit for those games.

As for re-signing a player given an injury release, the rule was changed from 6 weeks to 3 weeks after the settlement period this season.

I should have said at least 6 weeks earlier.

I didn't know about the rule change. That makes it more feasible to re-sign a player but all other teams will obviously still have to pass on signing him.

Parcels got at least one player to turn down a settlement because Parcels told him to he would re-sign him when healthy; however, that was a veteran player. A rookie that might never get re-signed probably can't turn down the money even if it's only 3 weeks pay. That's over 75K.

Actually, if he was an injury settlement, it may be more money than he would get being kept on PS, and it gives him a chance to sign with someone else or sign back with the Cowboys later on during the season. I am not sure it is a bad thing for him. I am hoping that the injury is like a 6-8 week recovery time and we might be able to pick him back up later in the year.

I almost think for some reason he was playing to make a big play rather than to play his assignments. He got beat a couple times were he just jumped so hard on the first move rather than playing within the scheme.

McAdoo just became McAdon't.

He was given an injury release, went unclaimed and reverted to our Injured Reserve.

It didn't sound like a major boo boo, so an injury settlement will likely be agreed upon.

Huh, didn't even hear anything about an injury.

Start here.

Great find!! Would add some nastiness and attitude to LB corps. Timed slow but doesn't play slow, great anticipation and hits like his mother's life depends on his target never getting up again.
