First off, it appears Newman hurt his groin today. Say week 1 he still has that lingering? All I can say is this, July was so important we might miss him for a regular season game now depending on the severity, and chances of him reinjuring once he comes back are very high if not rested properly. But that July practice is important, got to get that timing down.(lol) Peyton Manning didnt even play till the 3rd preseason game last year I beileve.
To the people who take sarcasm to a new level with stating why not rest these guys to December(lol, btw), etc etc. These players are at the highest conditiong level a body can possibly be, they have some of the best trainers in the world and unless our veterans are idiots I think they can remember the playbook. As for timing, what are OTA's for? At least if they get hurt there they have months to get better. Im not saying they cant go to the side and thow a bit or go to the side and line up in the defensives schemes, just nothing live till after the first preseason game and I wouldnt play them week one of the preseason. Does L. Tomilson ever play in the preseason but about 3 carries? All Im saying is we should consider this because we dont want to throw our season away in July with A Tony Romo knee injury or a Terrell Owens torn achilles. I know its not the popluar choice but I think its the smartest one. I dont think that it will hurt their play in game one either because they have about 4 weeks to get ready. Seriously, you dont think we cant get our timing down and get ready in 4 weeks instead of 6? opinions??? its just some fun debate.
