1. Texans - Greg Robinson T Auburn
2. Rams - Trade with TAMPA
2. Bucaneers - Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina
3. Jaguars - Khalil Mack DE Buffalo
4. Browns - Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville
5. Raiders - Sammy Watkins WR Clemson
6. Falcons - Jake Mathews - T Texas A&M
7. Rams - Mike Evans WR Texas A&M
8. Vikings - Anthony Barr DE UCLA
9. Bills - Taylor Lewan T Michigan
10. Lions - Darqueze Dennard CB Michigan State
11. Titans - Blake Bortles QB Central Florida
12. Giants - CJ Mosley LB Alabama
13. Rams - Eric Ebron TE North Carolina
14. Bears - Aaron Donald DT Pittsburgh
15. Steelers - Zack Martin OT Notre Dame
16. Cowboys - Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M
I wouldnt like this but if it came to this I Think Jerry would be jumping for joy. And i think Johnny would be getting some playing time in 2014 and 2015. And i think in 2016 Romo would be gone His dead money would be 9mil. June 1 casualty. Manziel getting 2 yrs to develop would be great for him and the Cowboys. I just wouldnt like the pick happening. But if he's there at 16. i think he will be the pick. Jags and Vikings resigning their QBS for 2 yrs i think points to a QB dropping.

RD2
Will Sutton DT Arizona State
Is putting in a serious amount of work to get back to where he was in 2012. Marinelli would get the most out of him. I could see Marinelli getting him to his 293-295 playing weight of 2012. All you have to look at is 2012 and what he did to USC, Guy has some serious skill. ASU coaches wanted him to bulk up, bad advice.

RD3
Marcus Smith DE Louisville
Plays stronger than his weight. Quick off the snap. Can hold up against the run too. Can start off with a rotation with Selvie and/or give Ware a breather.

RD4
Shane Skov LB Stanford
Solid depth for ILB if Lee suffers another injury, or Can fit in at the SAM if Wilber or Hollomon struggle. Or can just compete with both for the starting spot.

RD5
Trai Turner G LSU
Big guy with the ability to pull. Probably needs to develop a yr get his footwork in order. But theres no rush with Leary and Mack holding the G spots down. Future RG.

RD6(COMP)
Ben Gardner DE Stanford
Can play inside or outside. But is just a beast at DE. Will be ready to go at Stanford Combine later this month. He could be moving up.

RD7(CHI)
Jeff Janis WR Saginaw State
Big WR who can go over the middle. but more importantly can play the outside if a Injury happens to Dez or TW.

RD7
Eathyn Manumaleuna DT BYU
Quick off the snap but isnt going to get you alot of sacks. Can create a pill inside on running plays but can also get off them blocks for TFL. Perfect 1Tech type for this defense. Good rotational guy.

RD7(KC)
Jonotthan Mathews C Florida
Quick, athletic C who is strong and can play all 3 interior spots. Great depth

RD7(COMP)
Michael Sam DE Missouri
He is dropping fast. If he falls this far Cowboys could scoop him up.

RD7(COMP)
Jonathon Dowling FS Western Kentucky
Tall FS but a little skinny for his size.

RD7(COMP)
Silas Redd RB USC
Churn, probably a PS guy

Interesting. You think Houston would go with Robinson overall? I mean, I know the guy's a beast, and they could use him, but does he leapfrog all the QB's and Clowney? Not saying it won't happen, just would be surprised.

As for Manziel, I could see it. Given the right situation, he could be successful, and it does have Jerry written all over it. I'd probably have mixed feelings about it if that's what happened.

Also, I know this is a deep draft, so good players will fall. You think Skov, Turner, and Janis go that late?

I think so. Texans problems were more related to offense. QB was bad but they couldnt protect their QB for nothing. Houston seems to want a veteran QB. But it doesnt matter if they have a rookie QB or a Vet QB if they cant protect him theyre going to have the same problems.

I wouldnt like Manziel at 16 with what this team needs. But i think Jerry would do it. Manziel is an exciting QB and he's already a big draw in Texas. Would only get bigger with the Cowboys. Think it would push Romo out too. probably in 2016. Dont see how they could cut Romo in 2015, but Then i think unless Romo does the job, he could be a 20 million dollar backup which would be a joke. Could happen tho.

I use CBS sports rankings when i mock. In past yrs they've been pretty accurant in most cases. They update them alot so i think thats what keeps them accurate.

Interesting, I feel the exact same way about Manziel, I've heard Jerry just gush about Johnny and I believe he said something along the lines of him definitely being long gone by the time Dallas picks and he probably couldn't even trade the whole draft to get him if he wanted to.(I'm sure this interview can be found, from the ben and skin show on the 25th anniversary day) If he falls, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Jerry pull that trigger. I have mixed feelings, he's a heck of a football player and an exciting playmaker but will he translate into the NFL? It would be nice to have a guy like that to develop for the future for sure. I think having a couple years to learn is very important and really the only way I'd take him. Will Jerry take a QB in the first round after paying Romo so much and wanting him to be the guy? But then again, I had mixed feelings about Dez when we drafted him...mega talent but we had other more pressing needs. This has Jerry written all over it and I'm a fan of BPA.

I love the Sutton pick if we can slim him down. Broaddus was saying he was a stud when he was slimmed down. Wouldn't mind taking Sam in a late round but I would avoid him otherwise because of the attitude he had all during the combine and pre-combine interviews, it was very off-putting.

I agree with you regarding the Texans, I think they'd be fine going into camp letting Schaub and Keenum battle it out for the starting job or trading for Mallett which is apparently something they are considering according to something I read earlier. They said they are thinking about trading for him and taking Clowney.

You don't think Dallas would be able to trade Romo if he's healthy? Making too much money? BEngals were able to land a first rounder for Carson Palmer when he was in his 30's albeit the team that gave the first was the Raiders. If Johnny really showed something by year two, Romo would still be young enough to bring back a pick imo and the pick isn't really what I'd worry about, it's the cap benefits.

With the cap going up the way it is, Romo Would count 30 mil in dead money next yr. If Romo bombs would they cut him? a june cut would cost 15mil, but would save 12 mil against the cap. Thy would have to designate him as a june cut as soon as the season starts because if he's on the team the 3rd days of the league yr in 2015 7mil is guaranteed that yr. Its real tricky and crazy but its not out of the question if Romo bombs this yr. Imagine the outcry from fans. lol this forum would explode.

But if Romo bombs in 2014 he'll have zero trade value. hell he doesnt really have any now with that contract.

If he bombed in 2014, we might all just go into a deep depression if we didn't drat a QB and/or Orton retires and we have no decent backup. Hell even if we did have a backup, after that contract, it would be rough seeing him bomb lol the bandwidth on this forum couldn't handle it.

...and right after we talk about the horror of Romo bombing, I get an ESPN text saying Romo said his back rehab is going well, no setbacks and he should be ready for OTAs lol weird timing. It's like he's reassuring us!

This is about the worst case scenario for the cowboys IMO and a Jerry wet dream

Manziel and Michael Sam would bring a lot of publicity and the media circus for the cowboys (which is all Jerry cares about) but would not improve us as a team

And the last thing these players need is even more publicity, media circus and distraction

It would be a very smart pick for 2 yrs down the line. Only reason i wouldnt like it is because it wouldnt help Dallas this yr, atleast not right away. But if Romo starts off slow it would be nice knowing they have the future waiting. Waiting didnt hurt Aaron Rodgers. He would def be the BPA at 16. Is that what most people want BPA?

This kind of pick would surely push Romo out the door sooner. But isnt that what most fans want anyways?

I dont see it as a horrible move. But i wouldnt like it 100%. Factor all this in, it would be smart just would suck to wait to see him play. And would suck if Romo was a 20mil dollar backup in 2015.

As Charles Barkley would say, that's turrible!

Drafting Johnny is a terrible idea. Even is the cap ramifications were not an issue, Jerry is not going to want to lose ten of millions from cutting Romo or having him ride the bench. Having Johnny ride the bench would also be a terrible idea. Getting contributions for draft picks on their initial rookie contracts is critical under the current CBA. Losing 2 to 3 years of a mid 1st round picks initial contract riding the bench would be terrible not to mention that Johnny and the fans would create chaos if he was riding the bench.

Will Sutton is a big risk. He has super short arms and is physically a Drake Nevis clone and we saw Nevis up close in the Cowboys defensive scheme.

The Cowboys would be the worst place for Michael Sam. The Cowboys have the most intense media coverage of any team. The distraction would not be beneficial to either the team or the player.

Marcus Smith is a good fit in either a 4-3 or 3-4. It's highly doubtful that he will make it to the Cowboys 3rd round pick.

Silas Redd is a 5-9 RB that ran a 4.7 forty.

Shane Skov is not a good fit in Marinelli's scheme due to lack of speed. He needs to be a 3-4 ILB.

Not a bad mock pretty creative, can't see Texans picking Robinson 1st with Duane Brown, tho it happened last year you never know. Buffalo almost certainly will take a WR/TE they have Cordy Glenn again not much need. obviously the cowboys pick would be super intriguing probly not the smartest with all our needs tho lol...

also, i am not a fan of manziel and dont think he has the makings of an elite NFL QB. all elite NFL QBs have great work/preparation habits. manziel does not.

i am also not a will sutton fan and dont want michael sam on the cowboys becasue of the attention he would bring

The QB controversy the media would create having Johnny Football and Tony Romo on the same team would be a nightmare but I think if there was someone Jerry would put in that spot or if there was a QB Jerry would draft high, it would be Manziel. Excitement, a big name, playmaker, media darling, Texas kid. None of it would be good for Romo.

The biggest issue with Manziel, like you mentioned, would be wasting years on that rookie contract.

I wouldn't want it to happen but if it played out this way, like the OP said, I think Jerry would do it. I'm hoping otherwise though but he seems to be slowly creeping down the draft boards.

Not really a waste IMO. Say Romo even plays 3 more yrs. Dallas would have 1 full yr with Manziel on a rookie deal and then a option yr. But if Romo has yr where this team still misses the playoffs. I think Garrett and Romo would be gone. it would cost Dallas close to 15 mil on a june 1 cut, but that still saves 12 mil against the cap. Would be a mess next yr in the media but i dont think jerry is one to care what the media thinks or says.
