FWIW-didn't we outgain the Texans like 77-17 in terms of yardage in that 1st qtr?
Yes, and our first team offense outscored their first team offense 16-14. Take away a preseason special teams play, and everyone is singing a different tune.

Didn't Oakland go undefeated in the PS last year? Honestly, this loss isn't that big of a deal. Being a Cowboys messagboard reader for a while this type of behavior is the norm. One week, we're the best thing since Atari and the next, we have people saying we're the LA Clippers of the 90's.

The idiots are what makes these message boards fun lol.

:lmao2: just two weeks ago HH31 was joining on the Giants and Commanders on how bad they looked in there first preseason, saying that the bad performances spells doom for the regular season. Now it doesn't matter :lmao2:

The hypocrisy on this board is amazing.

One that apparently also had an uncalled illegal block in the back.

It's funny really.

What is even more funny is the amount of rival fans that join the board right after a loss like this one and try to pretend they're Cowboy fans.

I'm highly skeptical of anyone who joins immediately after a bad preseason showing and proceeds to tell us how terrible the team is.

Where were they after the Indy and Denver games? Didn't they have any observations about how good we looked? Nothing about how good Romo looked? Not even during camp?

Umm-hmmmm. Right.

At least guys like WR17 have the guts to say what team they pull for.

Are you seriously comparing the Cowboys to the Colts? The Colts are an elite team in the NFL, we're just scrambling for consistency.

I would love for the Cowboys to at least be able to beat teams they are supposed to beat, instead of the roller coaster that was last season (or the last couple of seasons, even).

I shouldn't look at our schedule this year and be worried about EVERY SINGLE GAME, because I have no idea how we'll play from week to week, even against subpar teams. It's frustrating as hell. :bang2:
Agreed 100 percent.

Every game is so hit-or-miss. I was even holding my breath for the Arizona game last year.

The biggest probelm with this teams consistency is the offensive line. Teams go as the offensive line goes.

Go ahead and take a look at the NY jets; they have half the talent we have but the line rarely if ever had false starts or got beaten at the point of attack.

Look at all the playoff teams from last year, especially the ones that went deep. ONLY Dallas had a shoddy OL. The others had top 10 tier.

Heck-the Saints had a RE-vamped line(plus a complex O scheme to learn), but nonetheless, they were among the league leaders in fewest sacks allowed.

Just thought I'd remind everyone that these games don't matter and the players arent playing at even half the intensity they will be come two weeks from now.

The only thing that doesnt matter is wins and losses. If they lack intensity shame on them. You practice they way you play and vice versa.

While they will continue to improve you sure can see who has worked hard, who has talent, who is stepping up and how we are taking to Wade's miracle schemes that will save us.

Dallas kicked New Orleans tail in numerous directions last pre-season in Shreveport and then were equally embarrassed at home by the Saints when it actually counted. Big flip about the pre-season, no one cares, Bledsoe was even at the helm when Dallas destroyed the Saints in PRESEASON, losing 21-13 to the Texan starters on their home turf in a game that means more to them than progress is not something I lose sleep over.

What does matter is that Houston was destroyed 34-6 last season when it counted, that will be on record.

Yeah, or when Romo beat Seat. last pre season proving to be our future starting QB. We know how that played out when it counted in the play offs!
