Brown clearly had the route covered, but since we haven't successfully covered it all night, Weeden wasn't expecting it.

Do we have the worst set of LBs in the league?

I said it before. This is the worst group of LBs, top to bottom, that I've seen here since Landry was stealing a paycheck in the late 80's.

This is why I thank God for Will McClay. If it's this bad with him, imagine what it would be like without him.

I've seen little reason this preseason for Russell to make this roster other than the fact that we are extremely weak at DE.

Hopefully, Mayowa, who isn't playing tonight, will give us something at right end. I think Irving makes a good left end, but more as a run stopper than a pass rusher. Not sure we have an end who can regularly rush the passer other than Lawrence.

This is an area we've tried to fill. We simply have failed. Not sure what we aren't seeing with certain prospects, but we've done a terrible job of picking DEs. I would love to see us go after a top FA, and take one very early in the draft.

Not sure what the track record is there on teams with Marinelli as defensive coordinator. He could be one of those coaches who can coach them but can't pick them.

I guess a good gauge of that would be Floyd. How's he playing for the Vikings?
