I see the point on Dixon but he never makes the PS if he plays well during the preseason so that is why I put him on the regular roster. That and the fact I don't see us not trading someone or someones to Miami during training camp.

Parcells will take our left overs especially vet guys. Berger, Bowen, Justin Rogers, etc.

Good list. I don't think Glenn will sign though. At this point, I'm not sure he would make it through the season even if he did. As for Allan Ball, I think he beats out Oglesby. the only way Olgesby beats out Ball is if the coaches are basing the decision on special teams play only. Is Ball even eligible for PS? I though you couldn't be on PS any more if you were activated??

How did that work out for us last season? Even with that, I agree with the keeping of Johnson last year. You can't go in with two unknowns at the most important position. But Romo is no longer an unknown. Ride Bartel.
Last season Bartel was on the practice squad.

Not to hijack this thread but if we pick up a #2 receiver in a trade or FA next year what are the needs in the draft? Who do they look to replace off the 53 man roster?

Not to sound cliche', but if we go after a FA WR next this offseason or next, we should be looking at a future #1 rather than a "#2 guy".

....and if that is the case, I think can truly go BPA with many of our picks. Although it'd be a mistake not to look for a backup QB or inside linebackers if Carp and Burnett don't make a strong showing this year. The same could be said of the safety position.

I was referring to a WR being a #2 behind TO. I would like to see Roy Williams get picked up and then although a #2 he would really be a 1b with TO the 1a.

I tend to agree. However, I do want a backup with experience. I may be in the minority, but I wouldn't mind signing Leftwich as a back up. It would be nice to see what he could do with a talented receiving group.

Depending on how the draft order falls, I think Jerry will either sign Roy Williams (assuming the Lions do not franchise him) or make a push for Michael Crabtree from Texas Tech (assuming he comes out).

that is depth.....except qb scares me to death.

I think it is a heck of gamble to go with only two QBs on the roster . If one goes down then you are looking at either a virtual rookie coming in or an aging vet....and if they get injured ..even just knicked (Remember the Commanders Eagles Body bag game) THEN what . The Cowboys have been particulary fortitous in avoiding injuries, how long will that last ?

I have Hale making the squad because he is versatile on the line. that's a plus in that it reduces the need to have multiple back ups. I wanted to do a scout team/practice squad list, but I am unsure of the qualifications. If someone could post what they know, it would be much appreciated.

Already cut - so he may go on the PS.

I had Hale making the squad also but with the cut coming now, it would be extremely doubtful that he make the PS. Usually those guys come from the cuts in training camp.

Yep. I guess the team concluded that we have enough multi-position guys on the line already and he isn't needed....either that or he just couldn't cut it...
