I think people expecting a really bad season are going to be disappointed,, especially since its obvious some of them actually WANT us to be bad to support their extremely flawed views.
Unless we have a barrage of injuries, especially to guys like Romo or Ware, there is still ALOT of talent on this team. Other than two plays vs Baltimore and the debacle in Philly, nobody can deny the impact taking Stewart out of the equation on defense for Wade had. It was extremely positive.
Romo is a good QB. He was not "made" by TO. He is definitely a top 5 or so QB in this league. Subtracting the guy out of the offense who wanted the ball thrown to him at all costs, regardless of the impact (see first Washington game) will be a good thing. The ball will be spread around, and Romo wont be so pressed to have "tunnel vision" when it comes to seeing the field. His injury last yr was undoubtedly the cause of missing so many open guys, because his previous two seasons and the Romo pre-injury last yr was extremely accurate. There will be more emphasis on the run game, and that will be a good thing with the talent we have at RB. Having Felix Jones 100% for 16 games would be a major positive IMO.
Then there's the special teams. Bruce Read was arguably the worst special teams coach in football. he's replaced by a guy who's highly regarded and thought of as one of the better special teams coaches. that will have an impact.
No doubt we do have some issues. Losing Canty hurts some. We need the OL to play better than last yr, though Adams being healthy and having one guy at LG (Kosier, Holland or perhaps a high draft pick) should help. We need Spencer to step up this yr. We need the safeties to make more plays.
The schedule is probably going to help a little. The AFC West is bad. The NFC South is going to be down quite a bit IMO.
Barring injuries, I would be stunned if we werent 10-6 or 11-5. We have too many good players and the atmosphere should be improved greatly from dumping TO, Pac Trash and Turd Johnson.
