That's funny because most actors look absolutely nothing like what you see on the screen. The guy had to be a dead ringer.

Its not a ton of money, but body doubles can make pretty good money these days. Especially if they can do stunts or just the crap the name actor doesn't want to do.

He either was or had some set of John Wayne's original studio shots that he passed off as his own. Granted, I never met the man personally, just saw the pictures and my grandparents word that he was a dead ringer.

I had a friend in undergrad that was a dead ringer for Tom Cruise... except for having a massive schnozz. Unfortunately the real Tom Cruise never played any roles with a potato stuck to the middle of his face.
