For some reason I don't think this thing gets resolved for a few weeks.

Jerry's comments the other day made me think he could care less about resolving the matter because it's not like Terry Glenn would be going thru the two-a-days with his knee anyway.

I also think I could care less if he comes back or not at this point.

That would leave us pretty thin at WR, no? Crayton is a better #3, so assuming Glenn doesn't sign what do we do to address the situation?

I dont really wanna be left hoping it all works out with Stanback, Austin and Hurd stepping up on a year when we're tooled to make a Super Bowl run. I'm just not too sure how mighty our offense would be if TO or Crayton went down for a couple weeks and we didn't have Glenn there either.

How ever this ends up I hope the best for Glenn. He has been a good player for us and what ever happens I wish him the best.

No doubt, I want the guy here. As I posted earlier, I think TG knows his knee is stronger and more sound then others know. I'm tellin ya, you don't play racquetball on a knee that you don't have confidence in. Racquetball is taxing on a healthy knee nevertheless...

I say sign Glenn for this season because lord knows we can use those 4 plays and 2 catches that he gave the Boyz last year! Yep, give him another 5 mil....and let's get it on.

Well I think racquetball while it is a great way to work out it is not football and the field is not as level as a racquetball court. The stress you place on the knees if football is much greater.

There is too much difference between racketball and football to even make the comparison. One is a smooth surface with tennis shoes, the other is either turf or grass with spiked shoes that could get hooked while trying to turn which could really twist your knees up. Also, in racquetball you don't have big monsters trying to take you out or land on your knee.

If it just takes raquetball to make sure you can play football, let's go sign racquetball players!!

Ahh, I don't know if I agree with you on that one. I've played 12yrs of football and played racquetball in the off season to stay in shape. I've also had surgeries on both knees and the hard court, stoppin, cuttin, planting, and twisting in racquetball was much more damaging on my knees then football was.. But hey, we're all different, who knows.. Infact, I had to stop playing racquetball and basketball, the hard floor and cuts were just too taxing on my knees....

Jerry will make a move, IMHO, if Glenn is released...Whether it's a trade or watching the waiver wire as camp progresses (Vets tend to get released as they go on), I am sure Jerry won't go into the season without addressing WR should Glenn and the boys part ways

I was wondering about that too...I think a hard surface like the ones used in typical racquetball courts do not give quite like grass will and as such are probably harder on your knees...Then again, the hitting aspect changes that comparison in football as you can experience countering forces while the knee is planted in grass...Overall, I'd give an edge to football having more danger to your knee but it's not clearcut, IMHO.

Either way, I think the fact that he is playing racquetball has to bode well for playing, non?

Played football until my knees could not handle it any longer I was having my knee drained quite often and dealing with the constant swelling. You put in the work during the week to get ready and then the game. I take nothing away from racquetball but you are not cutting and twisting with people pushing on you not to mention you get into wet turf where you start sliding as you are coming out of your breaks the knees take a beating. It is no wonder that knee injuries in football are very common.

There is nothing quite as rewarding as laying into a raquetball and watching it bounce off the back of your opponent's neck, I can assure you. It makes a sickly, smacking sound and leaves a nice, red welt.

Glenn's not going anywhere, and if either side is to "cave" my money is on Jerry doing the caving.

He knows that Glenn at 100% is a GREAT complementary WR to Owens. He won't let that possibility slip away.

He has the team positioned to win it all this year, and a silly dispute over a waiver that may or may not save the team a million bucks or so will NOT keep Jerry from securing the 2nd best WR on the team (when healthy).

Well, like I said, we're all different with different experiences..

IF there was a player as good as Glenn out there and available, with the same kind of injury question mark over him.. we would be interested no?

I can understand us playing hard ball over the money he earns if he gets injured but at the end of the day Jerry wants him on this team and I say we get him signed.

True however Glenn knee problems have been pretty well documented over his career and this is a degenerative condition and is not going to get better. Training Camp, pre-season and then 16 week reg season has a way of taking its toll. If Glenn can return I hope he can get through it and it is not just the ability to spin, twist and cut it is to do so at a high level of play against top competition.

Is it degenerative? Or did it just take a long time to heal? I've got no time for degenerative knees. Anquan Boldin really needs to be a Cowboy. :LOL

I agree and thats why when I hear Romo or the coaches talking about how hard he's working and then he's playing racquetball on that knee, leads me to believe that its strong enough to play. Of course it's risky but I believe he can do it. Time will tell. I'm definately pulling for him tho..

Everything I have heard and read on Glenn’s condition says it is a degenerative condition.

That's what I've read also. And, at some point he needs micro-surgery, so this is not some small issue.

I really like Glenn, but man, when it's time, it's time...UNLESS you are 100% sure that you can at least hope that you can make it through a season...and if not, sign the settlement and prove that you can. It's simple...if Gleen can play raquetball or whatever, then sign the waiver and show everyone!

He got 5 mil last year for basically nothing, plus held a roster spot!
