Even w hazard, chelsea dont have enough fire power. Atletico are an incredibly strong defensive team... Chelsea is strong defensively as well, but i think atleti are better attacking and defensively. .. And atleti play very aggressively.. I love what Diego has done w that team... tremendous job

Atletico have a few players I really like as well so added incentive for me to hope Chelsea get beat. Lucky enough to have seen Turan and Godin when they beat us 1-0 at Celtic Park and always had a soft spot for David Villa. Shame only one is starting tonight

I'm a big fan of Godin/Miranda/Juanfran and then they have Koke distributing to Villa and Costa. I definitely think they are stronger but Chelsea is definitely capable of advancing.

What a snoozer. .

Chelsea got what they came for - a zero zero draw

I still think atletico advance... Im guessing 1-1 at the bridge

Chelsea advances now almost surely.
Great overall showing after losing Cech early.

Not sure how you came to this conclusion. .. But its definitely not the case

I agree. Cech is out for the season. Schwarzer is a nice back up, but Cech is the keeper Chelsea needs to win the big games. John Terry is also going to miss the next Champions League game as well as the game against Liverpool.

I wonder if that was Cech's last game with Chelsea? Will they bring back Courtois to take over next season? I think it is very possible.

Courtois is a great keeper, he will definitely be starting for Chelsea in no time.

Ya I don't see how a 0-0 draw was great for Chelsea, they have no away goal, costa just came back from his injury I'm sure he'll play much better next week. As soon as terry came off atletico were much more dangerous. I'm pretty confident now that atletico will advance

Well, enough of the junior varsity game. It's time for the big boys to play. This one is going to be fun

ROFL. You haters are hilarious.

Chelsea played a road game against the last unbeaten team in the UCL and you think that is a bad result.
HAHAHA!!!!

Atletico was the home side and fresh off icing La Liga.

Now they have real pressure as they have to advance at Stamford Bridge.
Their star striker Costa is busy waving at Chelsea Fans after reports he will be a Blue Lion next year.

Chelsea didn't have Cech for 90 minutes of the game.
They lost Terry whom they replaced with a striker and still played great defense.
This team isn't weak defensively in any way--ok arguable on set pieces.
So now the big russian plays again... we'll take that. Luiz likely stays in as a FB.
He knows Costa well and can handle him physically.

But Chelsea gains a home field and Hazard, Eto'o and Ivanovic.
Atletico lose their captain Gabi to suspension.

Lampard is lost for chelsea as well...

If atletico score one goal at the bridge, they will advance

Who said it was a bad result? It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a great result, either.

Cech came out in the 17 minute, so Chelsea didn't play 90 minutes without him.

Which big Russian are you talking about? There are no Russians with Chelsea other than their owner.

I doubt Luiz plays FB. I could see him being used as a center back, but with the suspensions of Lampard and Mikel he may stay at a holding midfielder position. Ivanovic can play CB with Cole and Azpilicueta manning the FB roles.

Exactly. It wasn't an an awful result by any means. But chelsea has to win at the bridge to advance, barring penalties. Atletico just need a draw of any kind other than 0-0..and 0-0 the game continues
