Preseason Game 2 Winners and Losers

With the scrubs in, I figure I'll start this thread.

Winners

Dak Prescott. Nearly threw a really bad pick, but other than that, he was consistently on the money and kept extendimg plays on a night where his OL allowed more pressure than usual.

Rod Smith. Dude just gets it done - he hits the hole quick and powers through it. Looked very capable of sustaining our power run game if he's ever called on to be the starter.

Taco Charlton. A couple big run stuffs and a sack. Cincinnati's RT sucks but it was still a productive night for Taco.

Byron Jones. Looked very comfortable as a CB and had a good heads-up catch on the fumble.

Losers

Connor Williams. Now Geno Atkins makes a lot of NFL guards look bad, but he took Williams to school.

Bo Scarbrough. Had a nice catch but got absolutely nothing going as a runner.

Cooper Rush. "Mr. Preseason" looked totally incapable of keeping the offense going against the 2s.

Other notes:

Jaylon looks fast and smooth in coverage, but still takes false steps against the run. He did get beat on a long pass by John Ross, but c'mon. Ross runs a 4.2, no linebacker is going to cover him on a crossing-route foot race.

Didn't see much of Chido, but his pick was just ridiculous.

Somehow every article I read last week told me that Scarborough had a great game last week. I didn’t get it. He had a stinker last week and another stinker this week. Waiting to see if I read again this week how great he is.

From what my eyes tell me, kid is going to the practice squad.

Connor wasn't bad. Not sure where this is coming from. Was an animal in the run game. Pass protection does need more work and even though at times was out powered he kept his feet in front of the defender and didn't give up any sacks. I think he played well and that's with Looney beside him

with the injuries at center and LG it was hard to get a bid on offense but I thought Gallup was good.

It will be curious to see what the analysts say but I think you saw a different game than me. Williams was not an animal in the run game. Frankly, the entire first team OL didn't look very good in the run game other than Smith's one big 17 yard run. He got beat a few times in the run game, he struggled on some pulls to get out in front of his guy.

Still time before the first game and it's not like we have other options to plug in there but I was not impressed with him tonight.

Didn't see much of Chido, but his pick was just ridiculous.

Taco was the story of the game for me, he was stout against the run and the pass. I really believe he ends up as the starter.

And that pick by Awuzie was awesome, when I saw it I thought "Man, Kris Richard brought Richard Sherman with him".

He wont be talked about much, but Tyree Robinson was a winner for sure. Solid in coverage.

There was a play in the 3rd qtr where Green was out front in space leading the runner. He stopped moving his feet and attempted a feeble reach block.

We should have gotten more out of the play if Chaz would have picked up his feet and did his job.

Sadly, until we know what has happened with Martin I think Green stays on the roster.

Brown getting handsy yet again. Lewis getting beat a few times.

Safety. Loser. If Woods hammy is a bigger issue.

Winner. Nate Newton's interview late in the game talking about the OL. LOL.
