Talk about a perfect storm.

Dolphins starting offense has been very bad to start, getting shutting out in their team scrimmage and then doing nothing against the Giants a week ago. Coach Gase is pretty ticked about it and is looking to light a fire. Have read several articles and it looks like they might be playing their starters the majority of the first half. They have made a couple of adjustments to OL this week and Tunsil might get the start. They also expect to have Arian Foster and Devante Parker ready to go. Of course, our pass rush is our biggest question mark and will be seen by Miami as something they might be able to take advantage of. Weak offense against a weak DL, especially if we do our usual and sit anyone that has a hangnail.

It will be interesting to watch their DL....from some fan pages it sounds like they have three DE fighting for one spot and they all have looked good. Fede, McCain and Warmsley...could be some guys that would be of interest if they hit the waiver wire.

Our offense against their defense would normally be fun to watch and still could be depending on what we decide with our starters. I assume Tyron will at least play while Romo is in there, but if we dont have him and Dak gets Green and Mack as his tackles and the Dolphins extend their starter playing time, it could get very ugly very fast. I do want to see Dak's mobility some and see that aspect of his game.

I think this week is gonna be a much bigger test so I am hoping that our bubble guys step up.

It's going to look a lot like the last game. Dallas will dominate early, and then Garrett will take out the 1's before the Dolphins do, and will take out the 2's before as well. Dallas treats games like scrimmages, they mostly are evaluating down the roster to see if any guys on the team are be overlooked and should get more snaps in the next game.

Based on that I would expect to see guys like Nzeocha and Jenkins to get more work against the other team's 1's and 2's.

I agree, its scrimmage/practice with pads on for all practicable purposes. The Boys dont care about the score so much as getting a good look see at specific players. If the Gmen leave starters/2nd stringers in longer, that bodes well for the look see thingy as we can run more of our 2's and 3's against there 1's and 2's and get a better feel for what we have, or dont have. The only thing that really matters is how our 1's look against there 1's. Then its all about the look see thingy.

I'm excited to watch a football game--unfortunately, this thing against the Fins is not one. It's a scrimmage with a bunch of names forgotten in a few months.

The only thing I'm scared of is injuries.

Seeing Dak light it up is great, but I'm just happy if everyone is ready to go for the season opener.

Good write-up and I appreciate the field work.

I doubt they're going to let Romo do any throwing when you got a bunch of de"s trying to make a name for themselves. Look for a lot of runs with an occasional short pass mixed in. The young QBs will get some passes as they need to continue to see what they've got

Not caring about score is not a habit I'd cultivate, no matter if preseason. Habits once ingrained are not so easy to turn off, especially for a notoriously underachieving team like current Cowboys.

So, all you see is a negative post? Interesting.

What I think is going to happen is we are going to see two teams with completely different goals in this game. Dallas is going to play the offensive starters maybe a series or two, the Dolphins might be going the entire first half. The Dolphins are a team that has another new coach and the early work on offense has been less than impressive. Most of the articles I read indicated Miami hopes to have most everyone play, while we know Dallas will not. I beleive Miami is going to be coming in with a game plan, while Dallas will be winging it and be more interested in individual matchups. It is how this group has operated.

I look forward to seeing how our defense handles Miami's offense and I think it will be good work for our guys that are fighting for jobs. On the opposite side, I think the likelihood is that Romo gets a quick series or two at the most and then Dak is put in with a patchwork OL and not a lot of weapons. I think he could face significantly more pressure than Showers did last week. I am not sure of this is a good thing or bad thing at this point. If Dak has a bad game, I don't want to see this front office panic again and restart the search for a vet QB. Dak needs to be given a fighting chance tomorrow.

I agree about the mindset, and it is somewhat interesting looking back at last week's game. Was the choice to go for it on 4th down and try to get a first or TD the smarter option, when kicking a gimme FG might have been the nail in the coffin for the Rams. Additionally, the poor time management at the end of the game ddin't give us a chance to win the game. Maybe giving the young guys a better chance to finish out the game would have been a better choice than just playing out the string.

I hope that Chaz isn't the LT while Romo is in there. That could be disastrous. After this game, we will know if Chaz has it in him to be the swing tackle, and if Russell is worth developing. I had hopes for him based on all the camp fluff pieces, but I should have known those camp articles are greatly exaggerated.

the only important preseason game is next week when the starters play a half plus of semi real game football....I just want to get through these garbage games without an injuries to one of our starters...
When is the last time our starters played into the third quarter? Romo, Lee, Dez, haven't rolled out in this starter game in quite some time going off of my old memory...would be nice to see the chore going out after the half this year.
