I'll say it again - please, if any of you have the opportunity to get to camp do it. Take in a couple of practices then go the Rams game at the Coliseum. There's nothing like a beautiful 70 degree practice day in Oxnard July when it's miserably hot and humid everyplace else.

I frequently ask myself, why the **** haven't I already moved to Southern California?

So we get an extra 10 days of TC this year becasie of the 5th game.
This is great from a football news perspective, but hope they take it easy, as it is also more chances for injuries.

So TC is just a little over 3 months away..

Earthquakes, fires, smog, traffic just to name a few
True enough but there are other places besides LA.

As for natural disasters... a couple of months ago an EF-4 tornado hit my neighborhood at 4:00 in the morning and missed my house by less than a quarter mile. Close enough where my ears were popping from the pressure change. Killed some good people who were neighbors of mine.

In 2013 an EF-4 tornado hit here and missed my house by about a mile. The paths of those two actually crossed at a small church about a mile from here. They had just rebuilt it from 2013 when this latest one struck.

In 2005 I had 5 trees on my house and went almost two months with no power when Katrina slammed into the coast here.

We have our share of natural disasters around here too. Except here we have a lot of rainy days and pretty cold winters. I wouldn't mind that S Cal weather one bit.

I am sorry to hear about your neighbors. I moved to northern CA about 19 yrs ago from the Northeast. When I moved out here my friends kept on telling me you want to live there where there are earthquakes, fires, mudslides, etc. I told them natural disasters are everywhere. We have blizzards, flooding, ice storms, etc. I have only been one earthquake and that was in NY. People use to ask me when I first came to CA if I would ever go back and I would say are you kidding me. Have you seen the weather back East ( this usually in Feb.) You definitely can't beat the weather out although this winter has been one of the rainiest in history.

Ha! Listen, I grew up in Buffalo, NY,. When you're a kid you just don't know anything else and playing in the snow was fun. Then I attended college in Florida. Buffalo to Orlando was a nice step up and getting out of snow and sub-zero winters was a pleasant change, but then the summers started to wear me down. I ended up hating being asoaked in sweat in 10 minutes almost 7 months out of the year.

Florida was hot, humid and flat - and I was getting older.

Then I got a job in LA and lived near the beach and I swear to god everytime I stepped outside my body just didn't trust it. I'd be like "Hell no, it just cannot be this nice every single damn day," yet it is. I never knew that there are apartments and homes that have neither central air or heat because the temperature is almost always in that 57-77 degree range. Plus, it was so strange planning things knowing you never had to worry about getting rained out in the summer. The last rainout at Dodger stadium was in 2000. The mountains, the beach, the scenery is just amazing. I simply cannot explain how awesome it is to live in it and if I want to see snow, just drive up to Bear Lake and go skiing in the winter.

The only drawback is you pay for it, but fo me - it's worth every nickel.
