I can’t hit the panic button when the guys making these mistakes are at 54 & lower on the roster right now.

I watched a little of the Lions Steelers game yesterday and it seemed like there was a penalty every other play.

Set the bar low in preseason so the Regular season looks like they are showing improvement. McCarthy playing chess over here...

It doesn’t bode well when your offense doesn’t appear to be as good as it has been. It’s not going to help wiping out good plays we have with penalties. The last thing we need is to be put behind the chains all season.
its no different than last year we have been a stupid undisciplined team for a few years now

All this might be true, but you have to admit overcoming penalties helps build up stats.

It’s about scoring points and penalties can cost you points and games. We had a Dalton Schultz TD catch negated due to a penalty last season. Playing behind the chains can lead the mistakes. It plays into the hands of the opposing defense when they have you in a 3rd and 11 and can pin their ears back.

so last year we led the league and penalties and was 12-5. I think we take a step back on offense but I see 10 victories but your right we are a stupid team

There’s been two or three teams that led the league in penalties that went on to win the Super Bowl so a lot of penalties can be overcome if you have a strong team/offense. With the hit our offense has taken the Cowboys won’t sniff 12-5 if they’re highly penalized this season. We’re not going to be able to overcome having first downs negated and having points taken off the board because of penalties. Although our defense may be improved it won’t be able to withstand being on the field all day due to our offense not being able to sustain drives. Our point total is likely to drop, not only due to the offense but a shaky kicker situation. We’re not likely to have the points or production this season. Well have a pretty good idea how many wins we could be looking at this season after our first two games. As we sit here right now I think 10 wins could be a struggle.

So if we assume we will have all of those penalties do we also need to assume the 4 interceptions against Seattle will happen every week? Good with the bad…
