Prince... why I dont want him.

Thats because you haven't seen him play. You can say you've seen him play all you want. You clearly have not. The damn scouting reports even say press is a strength of his and zone isn't. Which makes it even funnier because you seem to think he's a zone corner at the next level even when he didn't play it at all in college and excelled at press. LOL.

Again with the Blackmon reference. The fact that he didn't play press against blackmon doesn't mean he didn't play it all season, and he never even played zone that game. Again, that game isn't as bad as people like to say.

I have seen him play. Thats just my take on him. Have you seen him play because it seem slike all you do is read scouting reports on him. I watched him, not every game but a majority of his games. To me he isn't a top 10 CB. TO you he might be god but to me his a great zone CB that can't bump and run.

I said over the pas two yers. Jones played well vs Peterson but did not have all his catches on Peterson. You need to watch the game. Jones had 89 yards on 10 catches. Not all was on Peterson and a top 10 WR only getting 8.9 YPC is pretty damn good.

While Prince gave up all 5 catches for 157 plus a PI and 2 TDs vs a top 10 WR.

Peterson tackling ablity is another reason why he is a top 10 CB. He stopped Julio Jones in his tracks on a 3rd down and then went one-on-one against Trent Richardson on the goal line.

So everybody is wrong and ur right? If you view peterson and prince scouting reports they are identical except for a couple things.

Peterson isnt very good with his back twards the qb. Prince is.

Peterson has better change of direction in space.

And thats it.

Those arent opinions like what ur basing ur statements on. Those are what scouts who are paid to make them statements say.

4.43 isn't "pedestrian speed".

You're right, it's not pedestrian but how much weight can't you really put on the 40. First off, you're running in your underwear, no pads or helmet. And then you're starting out in a three point track stance and they tell you to lean forward at the end to shave a few hundredths of a second off. When's the last time you've see a CB start off in a track stance?

weell you can keep saying this all you want but when I watched him play I hardly ever seen him press man or bump and run a WR. I have seen him play up byt never get his hands on the WR. Thats why I think he is only a zone cover guy.

If he was so good at press man and bump and run then why didn't he do it vs Blackmon bsides letting Blackmon run right by him.

Blackmon ran by him maybe a total of three times tops and that's ALL in the video. He bit a little on a savvy move on the flea flicker and he slipped a few times on others. And yes, he got roasted on the Pass Interference play. But if you were paying attention, you'd notice that towards the end, he was there with Blackmon step for step, move for move.

You know, I've watched that Blackmon video many times before and essentially let it affect how I view Amukamara.

But I've been watching some other videos on him, and he's extremely fluid, athletic, and physical. I really like what I see, actually. Perhaps he wouldn't be such a bad option at #9.

nope this is just my opninon it doesnt have to be yours but don't call me wrong if you don't like me to call you wrong.

Peterson has flaws yes, which is he isn't great with his back turned but how many times is his back turned. Peterson is so fast and strong he bumps WRs at the line, gets them off their routes and plays in front of the ball at most times. WRs can't go deep on Peterson to often because of that. You get a WR off his route or bump them on the line then it throws off the QBs timing.

Again enough with scouting reports. I can show you a scouting report on Vernon Golhston and you would think he si the next best pass ruchers. I watch them play. I seen them both. I know how Ryan runs his defense. I don't think Prince fits in this defensive scheme.

Talked about this before ..

Blackmon got his final 2 catches and a TD on Eric Hagg, all of which were in the 2nd half.

While Amukamara covered Blackmon in the 2nd half, he recorded 0 catches for 0 yards.

In the 1st half, was beaten on the comeback, the underthrown pass he slipped on, and the flea flicker. That was it.

For those debating the type of scheme Prince was in at Nebraska, it defers from year to year. Bo Pelini doesn't dictate his defense to play only one way, but will allow it to play to its strengths each year.

In '09, when Suh was terrorizing offensive lines, Nebraska ran a 'pattern matching' scheme with its secondary. Bill Belichick, who made this type of coverage famous, is who Pelini replicated it from. To be successful in this style of play, it requires each player in your secondary to have extensive knowledge of your opponents by putting in tremendous time in film study. If you have CBs who have trouble recognizing plays, you absolutely cannot run this style of coverage.

This past season, without Suh breaking open lines, we relied on our secondary to play more cover 0 and cover 1. Our CBs would man up, playing soft for the most part. Nebraska had to use the blitz to generate pressure for the most part, which forced our CBs to play on an island quite a bit more than they ever had before.

Here's a great blog that describes Nebraska's defense better than I ever could. Everyone should check out the blog in general, wealth of knowledge about tons of teams and how they work ..

I have no problem with Prince I think the guy is going to be an excellent CB in the NFL.

This. He is a solid, safe pick without any question whatsoever, and it is a position of need. No brainer as far as I'm concerened.

Not a bigger need than fixing the OL and possibly replacing several guys who may leave eventually via free agency on the DL though.

Prince against elite talent = sucks. Peterson faced Jones, Green and never got burned the way prince did by Blackmon.

Who has prince shut down that will even be a top 50 pick? Im just saying a top ten pick should never have a game like he did against Blackmon. I'd be scared to death with him lining up against Maclin or Jackson..

Maybe he would make a good safety with his lack of speed.
