I'm not sure how Roy could be overrated anymore. All he does is get bashed for the last several seasons.

What is wrong with those as overrated?

Franks has been living off his fantasy numbers for almost five years. Archuleta, well I am not sure where his inflated reputation even began.

Agreed; Franks has never caught more than 50 passes in a season, and this past one, he caught exactly ZERO TD's on a team with only one good wideout.

Archuleta couldn't even see the field on a team with an embarassing pass defense.

They are some two of the most overrated players, and they would be even moreso if they were relevant.

Ditto about Roy being overrated; yes Romo is overrated but he is "a tale of two cities", while everyone knows about Roy's deficiencies.

Does anyone think Bubba Franks is good?

Or AA?

Seriously. Everyone I know thinks they are garbage. I can't think of anyone who thinks either are good players. That would seem to be the point of the "overrated" list....to list players people think of as good players but aren't (or better than they actually are).

That is why its laughable.

Romo is overhyped because of the fact he has not played enough games to qualify as a top 10 QB in the NFL. 2007 will be the proving ground as to whether or not he's a legit elite NFL QB.

It just warms my little ole' heart to see Newman getting a some love from a "media expert"...

For good reason and his fat underachieving arse, not showing up to OTAs isn't good either.

I'm shocked they didn't go for Roy but I can understand Romo. TNew is underrated and always be unless he has one of those 8 to 10 pick seasons.

Underrated

QB David Carr . He will take over as the team's starting quarterback at some point and show the Houston Texans they made a big mistake.

how can a proven bust be underrated? I glance through this list, and see no real insight at all

There probably are a couple of underrated players on that Houston team but we will never know because they are a bad football team. More importantly, Carr never really had a chance to prove what he could do. What QB could down there when you run for life every time you drop back to pass?

idk all the circumstances behind his failings, other than the Oline, which is huge, but the end result is he still failed, so IMO, he can't be underrated or even overrated, but it's not like Carr deserves to be lauded

Roy Williams

62 Tackles 5th on the Team
2 Fumble Recoveries 2nd on the team
5 Interceptions 1st on the team

To say he didn't play that well last year would be a dumb statement.

OH noes he had 5 ints...

Big whoop...

Dude is constantly out of position, misses easy tackles and gets burnt regularly, not to mention most times he blitzes he gets stuffed. To top it all off, it is never his fault. He never takes responsibility for his frick ups. He is a fat JAG... The next Ronnie Lott my arse.

Roy Williams is the most over rated player on this team. That he makes the pro bowl every year is an utter joke.

I don't know if Jared Allen is underrated. If you have watched him play you know what he is.

A good player with a motor that never stops. I don't see how he can be underrated when hes the best DL the Chiefs have, even though over the last few years that hasn't said a whole lot.

I know Roy is not the best cover safety there is but I think hes going to benefit big time from the new scheme.

I also think he will benefit from having what is supposed to be a decent FS. hes been solo back there since woody left and as bad as he is in coverage, he was still the best cover safety the team had.

I expect a big year from the guy.

And just a quick thought about when he blitzes and getting stuffed. Im saying right now that was more the scheme then anything. Any time you walk your blitzers into the box 5-6 seconds before the snap, they might know its coming.

Maybe, but will it make him man enough to own up to his mistakes???

For Roy, a lot has changed since last season. We have added some talent opposite him and we are putting a in different defensive scheme that is supposed to help him. Offenses today, at least those in the NFC East , attempt to dictate to the defense using H-backs and tight ends as major components in the passing game. This does put a premium on safety cover skills because the backs and TE's are often too much for LBs to handle.

If Roy has trouble in coverage, I'm a bit skeptical that the scheme can hide this completely because you can't run a nickel or dime all the time against teams who will run the ball. All of the NFC East teams will run the ball. Philadelphia was the only exception and now they have become more balanced in their attack.

Well see about Roy this season.

He is my favorite player in the NFL. I am just trying to be realistic. He shouldn't be playing centerfield anyway.
