Pro Bowl voting news

Who is ahead of Newman besides Shepard? I guess that over hyped piece of toast Hall is but who else?

He is not going to make the pro bowl. May as well not get your hopes us.

How about we wait and see how the Coaches and Players vote first huh?

They actually know more than the common fan that runs down the list and picks the guys that are leading in INT's.

Hall barely leads Ronde Barber. (Hall had a considerable lead two weeks ago.) Sheppard is well behind both of them.

I'm hoping Newman can pass Sheppard for third in the fan voting. If the coaches and players also put him in the top three (which I think is likely), he'll make it. Even if he stays fourth, the coaches and players could get him in -- unless they're snowed by Sheppard's interceptions again.

No one with a brain would pick anyone as the top NFC CB except Newman. Only really stupid fans who only watch the highlights on BSPN would think Hall is any good. And Ronde has not been as good as Newman this year.

Here's the # of players per position that go to the ProBowl for each conference. Number in ( )

Wide Receivers (4)
Ends (3)
Punter (1)
Tight Ends (2)
Interior Linemen (3)
Placekicker (1)
Tackles (3)
Outside Linebackers (3)
Kick Returner (1)
Guards (3)
Inside Linebackers (2)
Special Teamer (1)
Centers (2)
Cornerbacks (3)
Quarterbacks (3)
Safeties (3)
Running Backs (3)
Need Player (1 -- Coach's Choice)

I would imagine that MOST fans run down the list of CB's on the ballot and pick the guys with the most INT's.

Leaders:

W. Harris - 6
D. Hall - 4
L. Sheppard - 4
C. Tillman - 4
C. Woodson - 4
R. Barber - 3

T. Newman - 1

-- Andre Gurode jumped into the top five at center, reaching No. 4. He passed Jeff Faine and Jamaal Jackson, bumping Jackson out of the top five. Olin Kreutz is ahead of Matt Birk by a mile, but Gurode is just a few thousand votes behind Shaun O'Hara for third.

Hey Rack!!!! how about them apples!!!! So much for going out on a limb. Gurode is on his way like I stated 2 months ago:)

Yet you didn't want to bet.

Plus, they only take 2 centers. Gurode still won't make it.

Edit: Although I'd love to be wrong.

I didn't want the bet because it was a win/ win situation on your part as you so elloquently stated:D.

I think Gurode actually has a chance to start. We'll see......atleast I am always in the ball parker, how are those roof top seats again:D

I'm sure he was the ONLY person that was wrong on that one huh.

Olin Kreutz is a shoo-in for that, as long as he's healthy.

He's probably the best Center in the league. If he aint, don't tell him that. That boy will bend your teeth for you in a heart beat. Wish we had him.

Take care that you don't say something you might regret later. Manning is struggling but it's not unlike what I've seen from other QBs. He's still only in his third year. Rack was not wrong about Eli's talent. It's there. It's just a matter of developing.

I'm glad to see Gurode getting love - he is playing that well. But I think that rivera & flo are getting votes based on name - right now, they are our two worst OL.

hmm I've forgotten to vote for Witten...but who the heck is voting for Rivera? He isn't necessarily even the best guard on the team...definitely not playing as well as Shawn Andrews based on what I've seen.
