Ok, We've all read the numerous posts condemning WP and the reasons he should be fired. Here is a chance to speak up in favor of WP and the reasons he should stay.

Personally, I think he needs to go for several reasons that have already been mentioned before, but I'm interested in hearing from people that are in favor of him staying and why they think that.

Let's see, a reason to keep Wade. Okay I got one.

The fake Wade on the Ticket is hillarious. If real Wade leaves so does fake Wade. :D

Okay, I'll take a shot at it: 1. Every coach deserves, at least, three years to create the scheme and team that he envisions as a successful one. 2. There are not too many coaches available that would be ideal for the Cowboys, that assessment includes Shanahan, though, he might be a great replacement for J.G., not saying it could happen, but it's a nice thought. 3. Changing coaches now doesn't remedy the real issues this team has, which #1 IMO, is the owner Jerry Jones.

Well...I'll take a whack at it...

When I voiced my disapproval of Parcells, the response I often got was "Ya wanna go back to Dave Campo?" and I thought that was an odd way to suggest support for Parcells.

So...with that philosophy in mind....I'll say I'm glad we have Phillips because Jerry could actually make things even worse with another hire.

Uh...gee, that didn't work at all. :bang2:

I did support Wade up until this past Sundays loss. If there is a positive to Wade Philips is that he can call a mean defense and if he can get some guys healthy, which he should and add a few more players, this D will be one of the best in football.

Fire Wade if you have a clearly better option. Otherwise, stick with the popular coach who has the support of his players and make calculated changes to his support staff.

Wade's in a group of NFL coaches who have demonstrated they can get a team to the 10-6/11-5 level and playoff contention. Cowher, Shanahan, and Walrus are in this group. Parcells has a demonstrated formula for getting a team to this level quickly. Getting beyond this level and building an elite team is another challenge entirely. Coaches who have demonstrated they can do that are rare, and none of them are available. Unless you think you've got somebody up and coming who has a better shot of making and keeping us an elite team, I don't see why you'd entertain a coaching change just to give the illusion of progress.

Turnovers and an inability to capitalize on big-play opportunities in the passing game is what derailed the Cowboys this year. These are problems that should have been corrected by coaches, and it's the coaching staff's responsibility to address it, but I think this can be done short of a wholesale change of personnel.

On a side note, all the chemistry stuff we're going to hear about all offseason is a by-product of big egos and not winning. It's an effect of the problem and not a cause. I hate hearing about it already.

So each coach deserves 3yrs to create theyre own scheme? Well since Wade is a "D" man and a 3 - 4 "expert", I think that Tuna had already installed the 3-4 D before Wade got here, and I do realize that Wades 3-4 is a little different than Tunas but you then go on and say that you would take Shanahan to replace Garrett though.............? So I guess the 3 yrs wade should get doesnt apply for Red though?

You might as well ask me what the sound of one hand clapping is, or how to get the goose out of the bottle. If I knew the answer to this I would be chillin with Buddha under a tree somewhere.

I support Jerry's move of keeping Wade as Coach. It has been a long time since we had a Pressue-Type Defense here and I do not want to let it go. The Team had an off year due to injuries, execution, and cohesiveness. Let Wade have one more year with the Defense (Add an ILB and bring back Roy W at SS) and we can be a Top 5 Defense. Bring in a New Special Team Coach and either replace Red Jesus or get Red Jesus to USE HIS OFFENSIVE WEAPONS. Furthermore, get a "Real Backup" QB that Red Jesus cannot provide a recommendation on. The Talent and Nucleus is in Place, we just need to Jell as a Team. ROME was not built in 1 or 2 Years.

It may be unfair to JG, but I wasn't impressed with him in his first year, either. What made the Cowboys special in 2007 and made both J.G. and the OL look really good, was Romo and his ability to create. In terms of the play calling, I've been complaining about it for two years now. If you remember in 2007 a good bit of the ground covered happened long after the play was busted and when he was running for his life from defenders who would often times come in uncontested. Trouble is success is measured in the NFL by win/loss ratio only. Also, bringing in Shanahan was teamed with an assumption that Jason Garrett won't pass up another coaching opportunity after this season. If he delivers another season like this next year, he'll never get that opportunity thrown his way again...

OK, I've never tried to sound very positive on issues brought up here because truth is I'm not on the inside and don't know a thing about what is going on. But I will say this in defense of Wade.
He was an all around Great guy last year when the team was 13-3.
He wasn't in any bodies face or spouting obsenites.
Or throwing his weight around, etc.
No body was throwing him under the bus then. WHY?
He is the same guy at his age he is not changing with the wind.
However the "Players" are young men with egos , who change with the morning sun etc. They are the ones who won't listen to the same man who took them to a 13-3 season last year.
What changed??
What is all this stuff Tank has been spouting off about.
Last year he was on his knees giving thanks for the second chance and making all kinds of promises, now he can't wait to get out of this town.
No it is not Wade
It is the egos and youth of the players.
As I already said I am not on the inside and don't have a clue, but I don't blame Wade.
I think it is some body sticking voodoo needles in TO"s napsack.
