Pro Days 3/31: UF-LSU-ND-UK-Wake F

I think Atlanta is a very likely spot for Pitts. Hayden Hurst is their TE, not Hockensin. Hurst is solid but not great and a free agent after the year.

And if Carolina misses on 1 of the top 4 QB’s I think they would be a strong suitor for Pitts as well.

Also entirely possible those 2 teams trade picks so Car gets the QB and Atlanta gets picks + Pitts at 8.

Or none of that happens...
Yeah, I meant to write Detroit with Hockenson. When they said first 4 picks were QB’s... the fourth one was in Atlanta.

and of course other things could happen... this is just what they said during the pro day broadcast this afternoon. I guess it was their opinion.

A lot of people are thinking Atlanta and Carolina are going after QB’s. They seem to think Carolina in particular wants a QB at all costs.

But yeah, obviously, they could do something else.

JOK had a better 3 cone and shuttle than jalen ramsey.
Longer guys like Ramsey just don’t change directions like a guy a couple/three inches shorter. It is one reason I don’t really want 6’4” or 6’5” LB’s. But yeah, that is good movement for JOK. It is clear watching him play.

Slater is more of a leveraging inline blocker, which lends itself to playing inside. Eichenberg is a finesse guy who won't let you around the corner, but I think power guys are gonna give him trouble.

You're also talking about vastly different round projections.
There is some talk about Eisenberg going rd 1, more likely in rd 2.

Thing is he's the same height as Ramsey. Lol I'd make him my strong safety/tight end matchup and be done with it.

Lol.

Ramsey’s change of direction isn’t quick for a corner... but it would be fast indeed for a LB or even SS. 6’1” is tall for a corner but average to below-average for a LB.

I’d like the Dallas LB’s to have quickness, not just straight line 40 speed.

To be clear, I think Ramsey is a very good corner... he just will struggle a little bit with the Cole Beasley / Tyreek Hill change of direction type of guys.

In case anyone is wondering, according to PFF.com, 36 guys have run a sub 4.4 40 so far at the pro days. There were 12 guys running sub 4.4 at the combine in 2020. Of course there were fewer prospects at the combine than at all the pro days. Also 27 guys have benched 30 reps or more. 10 did 30 or more reps at the 2020 combine. Netane Muti was the only guy to do more than 40 reps at 44 in 2020. This year two guys did 40.

I don't have the 2020 pro day results to compare. But I have the results for 372 2021 pro-day participants compared to 337 players at the 2020 combine. It appears that not only are 40 times much better than at the last combine, but somehow guys are benching more as well. I think we need the combine to ensure we get apples to apples comparisons for all the top prospects at least.
