Probability at LT

Just dig and you'll find it.

you dig it up - I know what I have heard from Arizona

He's just too slow and was trying to get a jump on the speed rushers. Thats why he is off sides all the time.

I remember watching him in the combine when he came out and really saying he reminded me a lot like Larry Allen. He gets drafted by Az and they stick him at LT. why? he's def not a LT! Then I read that he played G a couple games and he looked spectacular, but Dennis Green being Dennis Green moves him back to LT and he looks out of place

When the Cards made Davis the second choice of the 2001 draft, he was projected as a franchise tackle who would dominate for the next decade. But then Arizona learned a lesson others should heed: Leonard Davis is a better guard, or right tackle, than he is a left tackle. In fact, one coach I spoke with believes Davis can't play the left side, that he doesn't have the quick feet to handle speed rushers. As evidence he pointed to Davis' rash of false-start penalties. He had nine this season and allowed a career-high eight sacks.

He's petrified of the speed rusher," he said. "He's more of a masher."
When the Cards moved him inside, however, Davis seemed at home. In fact, he excelled. Hey, when they played him at right tackle in 2002 he didn't look all that bad, either, once walling off Michael Strahan. But ex-coach Denny Green never figured that out, moving Davis back to left tackle where the guy teammates call "Big" was overmatched.

jerry has said it multiple times from the moment we signed him, if you actually followed the cowboys even casually there is absolutely no way you wouldn't have seen it many many times.

duh ya think

The only position he'd excel at would be at Guard (he's had his chance at Tackle), but he'd have to sign for Guard money
He's 6-6 370+ lbs. RT is where he's most suited. Arizona tried him at LT, where he's constantly up against the other teams best pass rushers.

so why would Jerry play him a LT ?

oh I see they get quicker an better with age is that your reasoning

oh hold it Cowboys | Davis seeing reps at tackle

wow seeing some reps at tackle

oh another one

Cowboys | L. Davis gets time at OLT with No. 2 offense

Ideally BIGG will not move to LT but don't put it past Jerry who said he can play there. I disagree because he has a tendency to get beat by the quicker rushers, obviously playing inside he is the better player.

Free looked like "Trash among Diamonds" vs Minn.

;)

You do mean "Diamonds among Trash" right?

For all of those still propagating the myth that Free got owned in the Minny game, I just rewatched the entire game and think that we may have a lot more blind members here than I realized.

He played a hell of a game. Allen was able to manage a couple of tackles against free. That was it. He didn't touch Romo once while Free was on him and Free went against him while he had his ears pinned back knowing we were passing!

The only sack that Allen had was against Witten. Period.

Allen didn't touch Romo with Free on him. Period.

Everyone should go back to the 4th and short play where (we didn't get it) Free blew Allen off the ball 3 yards and then pancaked him!

He's our LT this year, get used to it.

Thank you. I thought he did fairly well (going by memory...). Free will be fine. I can't wait to see him lined up and ready to go.

Well maybe not "blind" but agenda driven... not too mention they refuse to let go of the past.

Wow. This dude sucked in the Minny game. Its time to bite the bullet and draft a real LT in the first round.

Oh good, another thread about this subject and this one asking a dumb question.

Fancy grading players on one single game?

Would you want to rate Tony Romo based solely on the week two debacle against the New York Giants in the debut of Jerry World?

Did Miles Austin's first three seasons show he was capable of becoming the number one receiver on the team as he did last year?

Doug Free was beyond solid as an injury replacement for Marc Colombo at right tackle and the team feels he is best suited to the left side.

He played there for about a half earlier in the season at home against Seattle and had no problems.

The team feels he is ready.

Where the hell do these people come from?

Don't be so hard on yourself. You had to respond after that call out just like I had to merge this with an already active thread on basically the same topic.
