Pretty sure if they would he could be traded. Other teams have traded high price qbs. Wentz/stafford etc. probably after failing next year they might consider it. Saints need a qb and don’t have a 1st. They helped eagles with dumb trades - They might trade for Dak?

Trading Dak would take a lot of creativity and risk as well as admitting you were wrong about the player.
Our front office possesses none of these traits.
The Philly GM was able to move from Wentz and acquire draft capitol.
That is an example of what might be done with Dak.

So draft a QB in the first round when you have holes at running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and interior defensive line? Why do you believe you have your future starter in two years? Do you not remember the years in between Aikman and Romo? Do you want to trust the guys who wanted Connor Cook instead? Paxton Lynch? Yall have these scenarios playing out in your head and forget how things normally pan out in real life. How about giving Dak the weapons he needs because he's not the guy to elevate lesser talented players.

At some point you are going to have to draft a QB. He's a average aging QB. Chiefs went from Alex Smith to Mahomes. If we trust will McClay to identify all these other players then why not QB?

Sadly its all we can hope for with Jerry. Its a mystery you havent figured that out by now. This is probably as good as it gets buddy. And whether you admit it or not, if there is ANY chance we can win one, Dak has to be here. The simple truth is we dont have a team good enough to win it all. Dak isnt Mahomes, but thats all he isnt. Dak isnt the problem here. Niether was Romo.

Well first because Dak isnt average. Hes consensus top 10. 2nd, its near impossible to find a Mahomes.

When we find one, we can dump Dak. Any other plan is suicide.

Kind of a sad existence as a fan isnt it? Im all for starting over, but not when the team is going 12-5 with most of its good players either young and in their primes.

Now if we continue to build this defense then possibly we could do what you are suggesting a few years down the road. Any young QB will need a stout defense for him to have any hope of success in his first 4 years.
