Project Runway judges says adults shouldn't wear Crocs

I've done this around the house, too, I confess. However, the flip flops I wear are for foot support. After having plantar fasciitis once and the podiatrist telling me I probably got it from wearing shoes without support, I take no chances now because that was ridiculously painful.

Regular slippers (and regular flip flops) don't provide the level of support I need, and with the weather turning cool, I can't leave my feet bare.

Maybe I need some crocs! ;)

Fashion and comfort are not mutually exclusive.

Just rare, just rare.

Most shoes aren't actually shaped like people's feet anyway. Modern foot binding.....

Seriously. That's the only reason I wear flip flops so much. I like to feel free, and shoes are the worst.

This is why most people love crocs. They are comfortable because they don't bind your feet at all, especially in the toes.

Yep, which is why you should wear them if you like 'em. Just don't expect to look fashionable (and I don't, hence flip flops with bare feet).

You should get those shoes with toes, next best thing to walking barefoot!

They flop around on your feet. I would much rather wear well fitting sneakers with arch support.

I have them. Big surprise I know.

I'm an avid runner (like, 10 miles a day, with longer runs on the weekends), and I thought they would help. They did, but I did graduate to a more minimalist shoe in the end.

FWIW, arch support in my running shoes almost made me quit running because it ruined my legs so much.

It's not the same for everyone, but reducing the "amount" of footwear I wore improved my stride and ended up saving me from tons of leg injuries.

Actually, not high arch support. I like it only as a comfort. I wouldn't run in them.

I've heard doctor say that shoes cause back problems and that you should not wear shoes......but your gonna catch something like that

Shoes cause most runner injuries. They say it's far better to run barefoot.

That's how I started, then I just figured "well if some is good, more is better" and transitioned to less restrictive footwear in my every day attire.

That said, I do own 2 pairs of dress shoes and I still have a a couple pairs of Jordans to wear when I want to look less like a hippy and more like a real person.

They make really good shower shoes, and I know a lot of nurses and people in the medical field that are on their feet a lot wear them because they're fairly comfortable.

I have a pair that I use to shower at the gym because I refuse to wear thong sandals.

Some of you that like Crocs but think they are ugly may want to look into Native Shoes. Made out of EVA foam too, but classic silohuettes (sp?)

Why's that? They aren't stylish enough? :laugh2:

Isn't there some south american country that is known to run longer distances then anyone else??? On top of that they run barefoot or in tire saddles???

if you're wearing them because they're comfortable then fair enough. you should be aware that they make you look like a 3 year old going to play in rockpools though
