There's 4 teams projected to receive 3rd round comp picks:

Dolphins (2)
49ers (1)
Rama (1)
Vikings (1)

I wish we could trade all 3 of our 5th round comps for a 3rd round.

....and then trade back down when it's our turn to pick

The four picks draft value added up to 70.

That would have been the 12th pick in the 4th round. Or the sweet spot where all the RBs were going off the board.

I was happy to see Philadelphia wasn't on there again. Then I read an article last week that said they will have 2 twos, 2 threes, 2 fours, & 2 fives from draft day trades they did with other teams. The 2nd 2 coming from the Reddick trade if he plays the majority of the season. But at least this year they don't have any compensatory pics. I hear next year there's going to be a lot of talent in the draft. This year was said to not be a very talented group as a result of the coronavirus. I hope we do better with the later round picks.

Can't trade comp picks.
You can trade them but you have to be awarded them first. It’s speculation to say we will get those picks. The rules seem to change on comp picks every few years.

Kind of bizarre that you can lose three pro bowl players in free agency, not sign anyone of note, and only warrant 5th and 6th round comp picks. The formula doesn't seem to work.

Pro Bowl players?

Only Smith was a Pro Bowl talent. But his age and injury history hurt his value.

Biadasz and Armstrong were decent, but no where near Pro Bowl caliber.

I think the formula is based on the size of the contracts they get

And how well they perform with the new team vs. how well their replacement plays for the old team. And post season awards. No where can I find the exact formula.

So let's say Tyron Smith goes off and has a All-Pro year and wins the SB. Meanwhile, Guyton is our LT and struggles while learning to play LT. Our "Compensatory value" for Smith goes up.
Conversely, If Guyton has a good year and makes the Pro-Bowl, but Smith struggle with injuries and only plays 4 games; our "compensatory value" on Smith goes down.
