I know this will never happen and its a dream but I just want them to clean house having anything to do with this team, coaches, the 90s, etc. I want a good talented coach, a GM with no past connections, players who are good but don't disappear in some games...looking at you Demarcus...and just a fresh slate.

To give you an example, I'm 43. When I was 30 I had a flu bug that attacked my heart. I was in great shape. But this virus attacked the heart muscle, knocked it out of rhythm and basically had me a few hours from death until I got to an emergency room. After months of meds, etc my heart recovered but I had some afib every 12-16 months due to what happened. I got lucky. Then in 2008 at 38 I went to have ablation to get rid of the afib. the doc pierced my heart with the catheter. I started bleeding out and dying..again. They cut me open, stitched the hole, gave me blood and I survived. That time from 2000-2008 was stressful and anxiety filled because of what happened. 2008 to now is much better but still felt I was pretty unlucky, etc. Luckily I have a wife and 3 great kids.

What is the point? The point is about a year ago I got tired of carrying the baggage of what happened in 2000 and 2008. It sticks with you. Mentally it is with you. You have to get rid of that stink. In order to move forward you have to stop looking back. I'm in that process as my health is great, etc. The Cowboys need to stop looking at the 90s and even the early Wade teams and get a new lease where new talent can shine. Won't happen but I always feel there is this 90s baggage with the team. So NO, let Jason go, let them all go. Stop retreading.

Obviously Garrett is in over his head as a HC. He has a poor feel for the game and clearly he has not improved over his tenure. However, he has had some success in selecting the right players that given the right scheme and coaching would likely succeed. He is supposedly intelligent but obviously his methodic thought process does not lend itself to pressure, in the moment, in-game decisions. Promoting him to GM would absolve Jerry of declaring his pet project a total failure and would perhaps put Garrett where he really belongs, behind a desk.

I do not want this guy and his philosophies picking our coaches.

If he wants to scout players then fine. I think he has a nice eye for talent. But his coaching philosophies are Dino.

I understand why you might think this is a good idea.

He does seem to be good at the non game-day part of the job and does seem to be a co-gm along with Stephen and Jerry; however, Jerry would never give anybody the title of GM and it would be awkward for a new HC to have the old HC in management.

I think Jerry was trying to get as close to this as possible by giving the play calling to Callahan and getting the very experienced Kiffin and Marinelli to run the defense.

Exactly. People should realize that it's actually been seven years of the Garrett era now. Even Wade was chosen because Jerry needed someone to fit around Garrett, not vice-versa. That's the real reason Jerry hired a defensive coach, not because he wanted to fix the defense or had to have a 34 coach or any of that.

And seven years is too long already. We need to flush everything and everyone out so these players have that little bit of fear in knowing the new guy has no biases toward or connection with them. That's partly why Parcells worked so well, beyond just being a good coach -- because he wasn't attached to any of these guys and could be completely unbiased when judging them.

I think the only way keeping a bunch of these assistants would work is with Gruden, because they've already worked for him. Plus he's a real alpha dog type, unlike Garrett.
