News: Proposal to ban tush push FAILS by two votes, sources say

Well there's the problem, relying on injury reports.

However, you're approaching it from the wrong angle. Look at it from the point of putting players in a hazardous position.
If putting an NFL football in a “hazardous position” was an issue there would be no NFL football.

I don’t like the play. For years and years in the NFL players were not allowed to push the ball carrier. It was a penalty! It should still be a penalty! It should be banned!

Back in the day Tom Brady and Steve Young( with 2 of the best and most creative offenses) would use the QB sneak to get 1st downs 90% of the time on 4th and a foot or so. With the ability to push the ball carrier teams like Philly and Buffalo are now able to get 1st downs on 4th and a yard and a half.

I think it should be banned, but until it is, I think Dallas especially would be stupid not to use it. With the size of our C, G’s and Dak we should work on the tush push until we get good at it.

In today’s NFL on 3rd and less than a yard it is stupid to hand the ball off 5 yards behind the LOS with a decent chance of having the play blown up behind the LOS.
The tush push is NEVER blown up 2-5 yards behind the LOS!

Until the play is outlawed, Dallas MUST get good at it. It is an important play that keeps the offense on the field or scores an important TD.
If Dallas could convert 93% of the time running the Tush Push, you would love.it.

This portion specifically but also extended to the entire comment just might be the dumbest thing you've ever posted. An impressive milestone, indeed.

It truly defines your character as well as your abilities.
And it defines it’s not the 20s anymore. …..get over it. It’s 2025….no more leather helmets. Can’t go back to yesterday.

Ah, the semantics argument. MORE hazardous. Got it now?

Have you really not noticed all the rules to try and minimize injuries? Pretty obvious stuff.

The game itself results in many injuries. Isolating a play that has yet to cause even one under the auspices of player safety is disingenuous. Every fan knows why it’s being scrutinized. It is about a competitive imbalance. The commissioner wants parity in the league and the Eagles development of the “brotherly shove” works against parity. That Philly won the most recent Super Bowl is cause for alarm.

Eight of the nine teams that voted against banning the play don’t play the Eagles this season and their vote was a too bad for the teams that have to. If Philadelphia uses the play to good effect this season, and a few teams develop it and have good seasons that will make it more difficult to eradicate. Goodell knew the best shot was now and had the team with no private ownership group propose the ban. He failed.

The notion that it’s boring is hypocritical as the league has the Eagles in many primetime games. Goodell should have just been honest and encouraged it be banned until a more thorough examination of the play’s pros and cons for the game. He tried to backdoor it and didn’t get it done.

But they can't. Hurts is the one who makes the play work, and Dak simply isn't physical enough to have success with the play. Dak isn't Hurts.

I dont like that the O can push but the D cannot. The Egals would still have great results even if the pushing was banned because they have the personnel and worked on it alot. I say, let the D push back on that play. Eventually the 'gals will not have the personnel to do it as well so it will go the way of the wildcat.

Is the defense not allowed to push their own players in the back?

I don't believe that it hasn't caused injuries.

Injuries are underreported in the NFL all the time.
