Or is this simply saying the top 7 teams make the playoffs ... like the NBA

I don't see what a 17 game season accomplishes other than revenue.

Yep. Good idea. Let's face it, the league has to keep increasing earnings. It is a business. But the 17 game idea was just too much with the amount of injuries and the increasing focus on head trauma. This is much more sellable to the Players.

Welp, there’s no stopping them when it comes to tinkering with our game.
I guess this is/has been inevitable for a while though.

Hopefully it ultimately makes the season better not worse.

This really makes the bye huge. Might make for more competition the last few weeks of the season.

I am generally not in favor of changing tradition, but I don't hate this one.

It could also mean less competition.

If the 1 seed is already locked up entering the final game or 2, you won’t see division champions still trying to fight for that #2 seed.

The difference between the #2 and #3 seeds no longer matters much at all. It used to be an ENORMOUS difference.

And there really isn’t a greater reward than before for being the #1 seed.

This helps #3 and #7 seeds while punishing #2 seeds.

I’d bet that the 2 vs 7 game will usually be a blowout. They’re watering down the playoff field for a crappy payoff.

It keeps getting worse , the NFL is destroying the game. I bet Jerry wants that extra spot so maybe the DC can get in with a 8-9 or 9-8 record. So 44% will make play offs sad so sad what greed has done to the game.

8 teams in each conference make the NBA playoffs, same as the NHL.

Their regular season is virtually meaningless with each playoff round comprised of seven game series.

NFL is getting even more greedy, but with these proposals they should do right by the players and teams. I'm talking no more inactives on game day and also extending the roster. CBD and weed plus whatever other natural healing remedies/products should be allowed without any resistance.

I'm a traditionalist. I pretty much always hate change. I'm still pissed about the three day draft.

The 17 game schedule bothers me more than the 7 team playoffs because of how it impacts stats. You no longer can compare with the past if you're now playing an extra game.

On the flip side, you're trading a less active preseason gameday for something more likes fruitful in the regular season.
