The niners are a victim of undeserved hype this year. They scored like 8 or 9 defensive touchdowns last year, which caused them to either be close or win some games they shouldn't have. Because of that, they became a sexy pick to take the next step this year, but if you had looked deeper you'd realize without those defensive scores they're a 5 or 6 win team at best.

They're just not that good.

Maybe so but they play in a very weak division. Right now the St Louis Rams are looking better than SF

they've played 3 road games and a home game against the superbowl champs

context dude.

By 'context' you mean the 31:6 drubbing at the hands of the Seahawks and the 31:10 outing against the Chiefs? That's the context?

Can you imagine what would be going on around here in regards to Wade's job performance if Newman did what Clements did to give the ATL game away?

I'm not sure of your point. My post said the niners were never as good as people thought they were going to be. They won a bunch of games last year off the luck of scoring a lot of defensive touchdowns. Until they get a real QB and some more talent on defense they're not going to be a playoff team.

The point is they play in a lousy division and if Singletary was as good as some claim he would not be sitting at 0-4 in a bad division.

Yeah, he's a REAL headcoach. If only we had him here!!!

0-3 for Mr Intensity. And they got embarrassed AGAIN today.

But he gets mad at people!!!! He's the man!

I agree. Screw him . He should be preaching somewhere with his big cross and stopwatch on. He is a terrible coach.

as much as i hate them, i am praying for the 9ers to win some games so they dont have a shot at luck or mallet.
Mallet's going to be a bust. Luck has the potential to be a perennial Pro Bowler though.

Just a position coach.

Like Andy Reid. Like John Harbaugh. Except unlike those guys, he's got Alex Smith at QB. No coach in the world could overcome that.

he wasnt even a good position coach...

the guys the most overrated coach in football right now, not really much to debate on it either

and he decided to go with Alex Smith...if he didnt like the guy, they could have replaced him

he also hitched his wagon to Jimmy Raye, who has NEVER been a coach offensive coordinator

Thank God Jerry didnt hire this guy.

Jimmy Raye was an offensive coordinator under Marty Schottenheimer in Kansas City.

another one that apparently has brown Singletary butt stains all over his face

Actually, I do like Singletary. So I guess that means I have my nose in his butt.

But, then again I also realize that having a garbage QB makes things kind of tough.

Oh, and just to point out. Singletary is one of those guys who was fast-tracked to a head coaching position. He's probably not ready to be a HC right now but he could turn out to be a solid guy down the road.

That said, I do like the guy. I like the way he doesn't take crap from people. May not be equating to wins right now but I like him. I honestly don't know why dbair hates the guy. Not the first time I've seen him crap on Singletary.

I dont hate the guy at all, just think he's vastly overrated and have never understood all the acclaim/ewing and awing thrown at him...he was a great MLB, but he's a horrible HC and was not qualified to get the job to begin with.

Agreed. I could however see him disappearing as an assistant coordinator somewhere and popping up 7 or 8 years from now in the playoffs as a head coach again.

Yes, but only if the 49'ers had even half the talent that we have. They got their ***** beat on the road. Whoopdeedoo. That happens to mediocre teams.

Never said he was a good coach.

Your quote from earlier indicated that he had not been an OC before. That's not true.

0-4 is not mediocre.

And they didn't just get their stuff beat on the road. They got it beat on the road by the Seattle Seahawks.

I'll give him props only if his team spanks the Eagles this week.

49ers Should be hungry and the Eagles have to travel west. Last year they couldn't even beat Oakland out west.
