I'm not sure exactly who is the primary string puller or if it's truly a combination of both. I just cannot recall a time in recent years where our front office was so dialed into massaging the roster at every single corner. The FO is working overtime. I know Stephen obviously has a piece in this but I definitely want to show some serious love for Will McClay's brilliance in helping create what appears to be a dynamic combo in the front office.

Now it's time to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Happy Labor Day!

I have to admit McClay might be closing in on best in biz. He sits on Fred Jackson (who can't block) then lets him sign in Seattle and Michaels fall into their laps. Michaels has chance to be starter here for while. I feel some don't realize that potential. There is some cleaning up to do with blitz pickup technique but this is a one cut and hammer RB approach. He fits behind the style of OL and they will learn his tendencies as runner and will adjust their blocking to max his potential. Last year I thought McClain was signing of year and have feeling McClay did it again.

Broaddus responded today to an OL question by writing the team was working on a trade for a swing tackle. So we might have more congratulations for them soon

If you look back at some of my post several months ago, I stated that I've been paying attention to Will ever since Micky mentioned him in a conversation we were having several years ago.

At that time Micky said watch for this guy Will McCray that's moving up through the personal ranks. Said that Jerry really loves this guy. Knowing that name I asked him "who the old Desperados coach" and he said yes. I kinda snickered and said ok.

I guess Micky got one right. But like my father used to say, even a broken clock is right twice a day. LOL

I don't think there is any doubt Jerry has taken a backseat. These common sense moves and solid drafts are not his doing. He is either not very involved at all or he is rubber stamping everything Will and Stephen come up with.

I don't think Jerry ever didn't listen to his staff. It's just that his staff is now Jason Garrett, Will McClay and Stephen. Before it was guys like Cupcake, Lacewell, Ireland, Campo, etc.

Credit to Jerry for finally getting the right combo of people.

Exactly. I never thought I would see the day but it finally looks to be happening. You don't hear from Jerry as much anymore either. You used to always see a Jerry Jones interview at halftime of a preseason game and now that is rare.

It's very hard not to believe Jerry is indeed in a rubber stamp role. Awesome for everyone.

This too. I have no qualms with saying this either. I was totally wrong about JG. About as wrong as it gets. Lol

I do agree, but I also think it takes a strong personality to reign in Jerry's risk taking impulses. Parcells and Johnson were able to do it-- now I think his son is filling that role. Not that I have any inside information, it just seems that way.
