This has turned into somewhat of an annual post for me. But every year that are players that were high end prospects heading into their final college season that drop for whatever reason. Injury, dip in production, etc...Last year we saw it with guys like Will Campbell and Tet McMillan who both still ended up going top 10. Who is this years crop?

TJ Parker - Dip in production this year has some analysts talking about him more as a 2nd rounder than 1st. Outside of Terrell it seemed like all of Clemson's defenders could fall into this category so weird year for them. I was cool on him a little earlier but the more I watch him the more I do like him. He has thunder in his hands and power / pop you just can't teach. He gives me Jared Verse vibes but Verse just had more of a pass rush plan coming out. Parker basically does a bull rush and long arm and that's about it. Outside of the power not really elite at anything but good burst / bend and pursuit for his size. My comp would be Nic Scourton who had a nice rookie year and would be a 1st rounder in this class for me.

Caleb Banks - I've heard he was playing through injury this year which is why he hasn't looked the same. He has the built in a lab look and IMO he has the highest ceiling of any DT in this class. He is a little raw and needs some refinement but if he hits his ceiling he has pro bowl potential. Guys his size shouldn't be able to move the way he does.

Jermod McCoy - Not sure if he should be on the list but he didn't play all season due to injury. 2024 tape is elite and if he tests well at the combine and the meds are clear I'm good turning in the card at 12.

Anthony Hill - One of my favorite players in the class. 24' production was off the charts but this year it took a dip. I've heard he also played through some injury this year and was used a bit different (less downhill attacking). Similar to McCoy if he came out after his 24 tape we're probably talking about someone being taking much earlier. Should be in play at 20 IMO.

Keldrick Faulk - 7 sacks and 10 TFLs as a 19 year old in the SEC? If he would've built off of the 24 season and had a slight uptick in production I think more fans would be excited about him as an option. I have a whole thread on him but he is a weird eval. Similar to the way UGA plays some of their DEs he played a bit in a 2 point stance outside and kicked inside at times limiting his ability to produce but he definitely needs some work as it relates to pass rush. That being said he is one of the youngest 1st round prospects, has a clean injury history and is raved about for character and leadership. Add that to his traits and he is intriguing. Probably more of a 20 target than 12 for me but I would understand the vision if taken at 12.

Banks medicals are going to be key. He has Dexter Lawrence like potential and could have been a top 10 pick if he didnt get hurt. There was preseason talk that he might give Woods a run for DT1, and that was when Woods was a possible top 5

Parker could be a good fit in scheme with multiple alignments. He can line anywhere from a 6 to a 9. There is definitely a fit here. But Dorance Armstrong could do that too. I do think he is someone we should consider at 20, because I do see double digit sack upside to him. I do think his floor is decent. Probably Chauncey Golston. So if he busts, he will at least be usefull, and not like Charlton

He only played three games this year. He broke his foot in the second game. He came back and played their final game

Parker is intriguing...I have come around on him a bit.

Faulk scares the hell out of me..... Am I to believe you could only muster two sacks of a what 10 12 games and yet be the top 20 pick.
Let me get this straight
He had a darn good freshman year
Took it game to another level his sophomore year
And decide to take off the junior year. I'm sorry I just get Taco vibes...

I find it odd that I have seen a bunch of posters label Taco as the comp for Edges they do not like.

Curious how you see them similar as prospects.

All potential but very poor production
At one draft person once said to be ever done in college there's a good chance you're not going to do it any NFL. The matter of fact I like Parker better. But at the end of the day we don't really know We all are guessing

Yea Taco har 9.5 sacks and 13 TFLs his last year which is comparable to Bains #s this year outside of pressure.

His negatives on his scouting report were also power, ability to anchor, run support etc which is the opposite of Faulk.

I do not think that is a good comp.

Just stop.... I'm convinced you're nowhere near the expert you think you are.

We have one of these guys every year in the Draft Zone. They don't really watch college football. They don't really watch NFL football. They watch draft cutups and read what other guys think about draft prospects and regurgitate it like it's fact. This one seems to be obsessed with length. All he talks about is length. Mel Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah must never discuss girth or we'd be hearing about that too.

To be honest My last post on Cuball21 was a little over the top... He's a good dude and and I actually agree with his take on a bunch of draft information but but sometimes we disagree and that's okay

You left out one of the main one out, Sonny Styles

The process has just begun, still have a long way to go until draft weekend. Players will rise, fall, have medical and character issues arise, stick by your initial evaluation as you can find warts about every player, especially in this class.

I think that is part of the point of my thread...a lot of analysts and fans have not stuck to their original analysis of players due to 2025 circumstances.

Ex 1 - Is TJ Parker a 1st rounder and the guy we saw in 24 and who we are seeing at the Senior Bowl or the 2025 season version?
