If your only criteria for a good team is Super Bowl wins then root for the winner every year. I refuse to be on a bandwagon and I refuse to have the game and all that is great about it flying right over my head while I stand flapping my arms demanding attention.
Enjoy the misery you feel you've earned.
You can have a good team every year but it's not your year unless you win the SB. My criteria for being "your year" is winning the SB that's the point I'm making.
There's several good teams every season but only one can win it all and last season it was the Packers. It was their year!
I never said a team had to win the SB to be a good team but you somehow read that into my comment.
The Cowboys had a good team in 09 but for me every season that doesn't end with a championship is a failure if they had a good team.
The goal for every team entering each season is to win the SB and that's how it should be especially for a team like the Cowboys with their rich history.
I won't be looking for any moral victories next season because the Cowboys went 6-10 last season.
If you're the type of fan who's satisfied with just seeing the Cowboys have a good year even if they come up short every season then your standards for the team are a lot lower than mine.
My goal for the Cowboys every year is for them to win a championship and every year they don't that season is a disappointment.
I hope the players and coaches feel the same way or it's going to be a lot longer before we ever see another SB win from the Cowboys.
When you expect a lot that's when you achieve a lot. When Jerry bought the team he talked about winning championships and that's what the Cowboys did.
He brought in a coach who thought the same way. Jimmy was all about winning championships.
It's not like I don't enjoy the journey every season and the wins along the way but if the Cowboys aren't hoisting the Lombardi Trophy it's a disappointing season for me.
I've always been a person who reaches for the stars and I expect that from my team every season.
