Purdy signs for 5 years at $265 mill

For your education, I have bashed Dak or any other player when they play bad. I don't have a myopic hatred for one player. I was never on board resiging Dak. But I don't whine about him on every thread.
no, you just pop up claiming he is what we need all the time
no difference

It was talked about here a fair amount. Anyone claiming it did not happen is flat our lying.
And actually, I do not think that all that many other players will say that they are going for the highest possible contract to help players. and I really doubt any of them would be honest. For them it is always about the money.
Look at Drew Brees; he kept going for every single penny he could get in each contract. Directly impacting the Saints ability to acquire and keep talent
The notion of giving a team a “discount” will arouse the ire of the Players’ Association. I’ll bet other players were more pleased with Dak getting that contract than the other ownership groups were with Jerry giving it. If the Texans go 20-0 winning it all this season I doubt Stroud gets $60 million AAV.

truth hurts doesn;t it? you would be happily singing as the titanic sank because you never could see the water coming
You are so strange. This is what you come up with when they clearly are moving in the right direction.

Philly has a very competent, visionary GM.
We got an oilman who is a marketing genius with NO football acumen.
The results speak for themselves and should not surprise anyone.
Who played on a national championship team? The Philly guy or the oilman?

I just want to see the video to see if it was taken out of context. You swallow anything negative so your opinion is worthless.

Whatever. You and others hatred for Dak makes any argument you guys make sound silly. I root for any QB for the boys to succeed. It is infantile name calling someone a "Dak Bot". I am a fan of the team.
It’s sad but fun to watch the haters wallow in their daily misery. I really feel sorry for them. They’ve been miserable for so long they think it’s normal. I feel sorry for their friends and family although I doubt they have many friends. Folks don’t want to be around negative people and avoid them like the plague they are.

The game may have passed him by a bit. I played MLB for a D1 team in the mid to late 70's, but the position as I played it barely exists anymore. If my 21-year-old self were to reappear and walk on to a pro-style D1 program today, I'd have to learn how to play at least 50% of the position all over again. Hell, at 6'4", 245, they might try to turn me into a part-time edge rusher.

Dak got his money coming off an All Pro. Purdy got his coming off a 20 TD 12 interception season where 49ers missed the playoffs. Common sense people.
Dak got his second contract after he played a few games and basically severed one of his leg bones. Plus the constant refrain that I read from his legions (not sure if you argued this) that QB and other contracts naturally go up.

The refrain said for any “franchise” QB, the contract will always top the prior highest contract. That this was the way. This was how the market works. We find out less than 1 year after Dak gets his new contract, that franchise QB’s sometimes do not automatically top the previous high (13% less per year average). I would also argue that after two straight NFCCG appearances and a SB appearance, Purdy’s achievements top anything Dak has ever accomplished in the regular season. He’s also much younger and healthier. Not that I would like the thought of committing to Brock Purdy long term if I was a 49ers’ fan.

no one spews more hate than you do

you swallow everything you want and deny all else.
He said it; it is well known and you just cannot deal with it

If the 49ers could have signed him coming off that SB loss season they would have, he played lights out and even had a come from behind comeback win in the NFCCG. Unlike Dak, he isn’t a deer in the headlights and isn’t afraid to keep slinging the ball in tight windows even after making mistakes. Purdys 2024 season was very similar to Staffords in 2014 where his Lions made the playoffs. Stats don’t tell the whole story

Yes he is......He had a complete team and they could not close the deal. When the team broke, the real Brock Purdy showed his talent.
Brock Purdy led his team back and got to the SB from a come from behind win in the NFCCG. Also put his team in a game winning situation against the same team Dak couldn’t do anything against. His talent really showed alright

I’m not saying he didn’t say it. I just want to see the video and the context of the conversation. I haven’t been able to find it. You?

Dak got paid before the 2024 season not after. He got hurt afterwards. Purdy couldn’t ask for 60 million coming off a 20 TD and 12 performance. Tua, Dak, Lawrence all had career years and got paid. Purdy had one of his worst.

It’a not about what you or I feel. Guys get paid based on stats. It’s just what it is. You don’t have to like it.
