I'm so glad i don't let a Cowboy loss get to me like it did in the 70's,80's and so forth ...it still gets to me ...but being 49 has put everything in perspective.

I'm nearing death...now when i was a teenager to my late 30 's ...i used to get stupid , cussing like a sailor upset when we lost.

One thing that has calmed me is the way this game with all the rule changes and commercials is not the game i grew up watching.

I feel sorry for all the young football fans who did not witness 70's style football and not needing a dvr to skip commercials.
Me too .. as much as I enjoyed the early 90's my family can't say the same .. when we lost I was intolerable .. cussing .. telling everyone to leave me alone .. I remember that one game against the rams ... damn Cleveland Gary ... grrrrr..since then kinda reminds me of the 80s ... sometimes close but oh so far .. age and a bunch 5-11 to 8-8 seasons has mellowed me now .. lol

We're not even at the halfway point of the season, far too early for this to be a game announcing we've arrived. A lot of people weren't sold on Philly entering this season and they just broke a 2 game losing streak. Lane, the game you're making comparisons to in 93 was a divisional playoff game, big difference between that game and a week 8 game. This is just a battle coming up and regardless who wins it isn't going to decide the war.

Good stuff my friend...I too would demolish things...perspective is a good thing...I'm every bit of the fan I was 10 yrs ago but today I enjoy these 3 hrs for what they are win or lose, although if they win I watch NFLN for hrs!

Geesh - easy there Cowboy.

I'm closer to death than you are but certainly don't feell that way. Technology and AI are going to produce some incredible breakthroughs in the coming years. Keep yourself in shape, have a good attitude and you could see a healthy 90 which translates into a lot of Cowboy wins!

Good point. Remember Atlanta last year?

They started out the gate 5-0 and went 3-7 the rest of the way. I don't see that happening to us unless Dak gets injured or comes free falling back to earth like a meteor. No week 8 game vs a divisional opponent is going to compare with a playoff game against them. Win or lose we're still going to be in the thick of it. We have a long way to go!

So many in here that are wusses. Learn to get 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night you don't need more than that.

I'm feeling like this might be the best damn game against Philly since the January divisional 1993 playoff game..That was the game where we finally arrived and announced to the NFL we were back in the saddle.

I have a similar feeling about this team.

The electric energy and excitement should be something to behold..I expect the crowd to be loud as hell.

CBS filters crowd noise so bad it's pathetic ...but when Double E ran that 60 yarder against Cincy...their filters could not even drown the sound....NBC does not filter sound....so we will feel the noise Sunday night if we continue playing like we have thus far.

Win or lose ...i'm glad i took the Monday off.
I take it that u have kids and did it cuz of Halloween??? :)

First, 49 isn't even close to the end, unless you have a serious health issue in which case my prayers are with you.

Like many of you, my entire week used to be ruled by the outcome of the Cowboys. Luckily they won most of their games through my childhoodin the 70s, though I did learn to drywall by repairing holes I put in the walls in my childhood home after losses. I once actually knocked myself out by banging my head on the door jamb jumping down the stairs after the Thanksgiving Day game when Clint Longley came in and led a ridiculous comeback win.

Looking back now I can't believe my dad put up with it, but since he was from Odessa I guess he understod it.

And I completely agree on the changes in the game. It's clearly an entertainment show now with some football augmenting the show. The over-officiating and league overlords have created a fun but very different sport.

I enjoy the games now, but it's not at all the same.

I'm 24 so I'm still in that phase of "cussing like a sailor upset" haha at least now that I'm over 21 I can drown my sorrows with booze

In the late 80's and early 90's I had a stack of foam 'TV BRICKS' that I could heave at the TV when the boys played badly.

I'm a high school math teacher. I have a feeling I won't be doing any meaningful lessons on Monday. Probably lots of groupwork and practice while the teacher tries to stay awake.

Bad teacher, put on a movie...Better yet replay the game for them.

Good call. Had a Navy bud from VA that's a big Skins fan and years ago we beat them in some meaningless game on an INT. He threw a tequila bottle through his moms tv screen. He just said "F! I'm going to have to go to Best Buy now." This was back when good TVs were 2k or more. He spent all of that and more. Good win.

Not true. Try to deal with 150 teenagers and teach them mathematics on less than 8 hours of sleep ...

Not happening ...

Fair enough everyone is different I wouldn't find that a challenge if I was in your situation. Try having chemo and the next day your back to work running your own family restaurant on 4 hours a night sleep every night, it can be done Everyone is different and have different tolerances whats difficult for some is simple and easy for others.
