What are you looking for from this season?

1) I am curious to see how Awuzie continues to progress. He's shown flashes to date but been inconsistent. The talk is he's really shining in camp. If he can develop into a really good CB this year, it makes it easier to let Jones walk if his price tag is too high.

2) Can the two LBs build off what they accomplished last year? They were really good last year. Can they match, or even exceed that play?

3) I am curious to see where Quinn is as a DE. His sack totals are decent but some of the more advanced metrics show he was really effective. With Lawrence opposite him now, what kind of season can he have?

4) Dak in Moore's system and Dak overall. The next few years are riding on which Dak we see in 2019.

I was hoping to see Dak, Cooper, and Zeke together for 16 games, to see if they could build off the second half of last year.

I also want to see how LVE grows from year one to year two, and I'm curious to see how newly-paid and surgically-repaired DLaw performs.

This season is essentially about one player. Dak Prescott.

If he's shows significant improvement, the Cowboys are set to contend for the next decade.

If not, a terrific roster is about to go to waste, and the wait for a QB will probably extend for many years.

Your number four would be my number one, followed by how Pollard will fit in, and in general how our younger players especially on DL and WR play.

The thought just occurs to me is that we don't know how much CWill has improved, if at all, and if McGovern is starter material, so those are also things I'm looking for.

The main thing I'm looking for from this season is improving our coaching!!

Same.

The players will do their job i'm sure.

But are we just going to arrogantly line up and try to outman every team we play?

If so then we'll just lose in the playoffs again to an equal team that actually embraces the chess side of football.

1. Another winning season, playoffs, pro bowl, playoff win for Dak and his team.
2. More clutch play from Dak
3. How much Moores changes make Garret look like a fool
4. Another season of embarrassment for the Dak trolls as ANOTHER dumb theory about Dak gets debunked as we start throwing the long ball more in Moores offense and the offense completely opens up in Dak's 4th year and he takes the next step.

Big thing for me is Awuzie/Lewis/Brown, Byron is likely leaving and we need someone to take over the #1 spot. Cowboys are lucky they have good depth at the corner spot, losing Jones is a hit we can (hopefully) take and not skip a beat.

I am hoping Lewis has a big year and forces Richard's hand to play him consistently.

and then of course other things like how the rookies play, if Dak improved, etc.

Along those lines it might be interesting to see if one of the lower named CBs like Westry or Jackson can make the 53 and show some promise. I really would like to have 4 "good" CBs on a roster. We have that now with Jones, Awuzie, Brown and Lewis. If Jones leaves via FA we will either have to draft another CB or hope one of the young guys was molded by Richard.

Forty words and you only mention Dak's name five times? Come on you can do better than that.

And I expect so much more from you.

1. Awuzie
Awuzie looks more comfortable in camp from all the videos I've seen.
- He did get beat by Cooper a few times, but Cooper can beat any CB 1-on-1.
- People should keep in mind that in the Kris Richard scheme the outside CBs will give up some inside completions.
- One of the KR coverage calls is vulnerable to inside routes vs outside CBs.
- It's a trade-off that they live with to make the overall scheme work.
- It's not an issue with the KR preferred base coverage but no defense plays the same coverage on all snaps.

2. LBs
The LBs are just getting better. LVE was amazing as a rookie and Jaylon still had very limited experience going into 2018.

3. Quinn
Quinn looked good in camp. I saw him having success rushing against Tyron. Maybe not a complete win for a sack but the ball had to come out or he was going to win. I didn't see the media report it, but it happened on more than 1 occasion. The question is who plays RDE for the 1st two games. They would rotate a big DE with him anyway, but in games 1-2 they need a couple of guys to show up. If DLaw is not really physically by game 1, then there is a problem.

4. Kellen Moore
The chance of Moore being worse than Linehan is very low, IMO. My only concern is whether the players can execute his play designs without incurring penalties.

The final record matters too much to me to set it aside. Win the division. Win the conference. Win the super bowl. I couldn't care less about judging players, coaches or the front office. Just win it all!

Why the heck would you want Dak playing in the Pro Bowl? You know what that means, right? They either didn't make the playoffs or failed miserably in the playoffs. Would it really hurt to set the bar a bit higher?

1. JLew has looked better than any CB in camp. That is all.

I'm interested to see the Cowboys vs Rams this week with regards to run defense.
- I don't know how much can be determined from a preseason game.
- The Cowboys must make changes in the scheme to stop the Rams run/blocking scheme.
- It's not just a matter of better players or better execution by players.
If the Cowboys don't make changes, other teams will copy the Rams.

Looking at everything overall. A lot of areas to build on.
I guess the biggest is Moore and play calling, making adjustments if Garrett will allow it. Once defenses figure him style out a bit, how does he adjust. Not that it will be that much different from the current playbook, or will it be. We really don't know yet.

Also I want to see how Kitna has helped Dak, it at all come real game time. We hear he has, but then again we hear the same stuff every off season.

Then just to see how the defense as a whole looks, the DB's another year under Richard and better at least on paper DL. Which if as advertised will make the very good LB group even better.

Also I want to see how TFred brings the OL back to being the best and leaving no doubts about it. How CWill has improved.
