Put the blame where it should be: The Secondary!

I'm not giving the secondary a pass here. They shoulder some blame for sure. But I did see Jenkins, Scandrick and Newman each make a few nice plays. If I recall, Jenkins and Scandrick both had at least one nice defensed pass.

With the rules as they are DB's are often going to give up some plays.

If you're not getting a good enough pass rush and the QB you're facing makes some excellent throws (Manning did!) you going to look bad at times.

No bigger fan/supporter of Romo on this site than I. But this one is 90% on him.
The other 10% blame I'll lay on the defense as a unit.

Can we please give our corners some safety help.

At the end of the half in the Tampa Bay game, why were the safeties not protecting the CBs in the deep third. That was the only way they were going to get into a position to score at the very, very end of the half. They had to go deep. Why not take it away by putting the safeties deep in cover 2? If the safety is back there, there is no diving catch deep down the sidelines.

Last night, you would think when two guys are torching you, you would double both of them. Who cares is Kevin Boss catches the ball.

Actually, Zero Turnovers and Zero Sacks is the problem.

The bottom line is the guys up front aren't getting it done.

You fix the pass rush, you fix the secondary.

Honestly, I never thought I would still be saying this with Wade Phillips as our Defensive Coordinator.

I think Romo basically single handedly lost this game for us. The defense didn't really help things much but if you take away any one of Romo's 3 picks you win the game. I'm starting to lose faith in Romo fast.

Now back to the defense...
I think we are missing Ellis a lot. Teams are focusing on Ware so much and Spencer hasn't shown much yet. Plus I really think letting Ellis go was dumb because god forbid what happens if something happens to Ware or Spencer and they miss some time?

Also I think Scandrick lost the starting job to Jenkins in this game. Scandrick couldn't tackle my grandma yesterday. Plus I'm starting to think Jenkins is our best bet to get some picks. On Newman's pass interference call he had a pick (and no pass interference) if he would have just turned his head and looked for the ball. I'm a big Newman fan but he was horrible yesterday. There is no excuse for being outran by any of the Giants WR's, none of them are blazers and Newman is.

I definitely think the Cowboys need to be thinking safety at some point early in nexts years draft. It seems like all of the really amazing defenses have a playmaking/game changing safety.
