So, who might be this year's versions of Newton and Fairley in the eyes of NFL scouts? Although it's difficult to predict which first-time college starters in '11 will go a similar route in the '12 draft, here are a half-dozen talented sleepers to put on the watch list for the NFL:

Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina. Brown is a top athlete with natural explosiveness and elite speed to chase plays down all over the field. He has been one of North Carolina’s most productive defensive players over the last two seasons — more than some already chosen in the NFL Draft (Robert Quinn, Bruce Carter, Marvin Austin and Quan Sturdivant). Brown is naturally instinctive, which helps him get started toward the ball earlier. He moves through traffic with ease and has an explosive closing burst to finish plays in pursuit. Brown plays with great effort and intensity on every snap and is consistently around the ball. Don't be shocked if Brown ends up climbing draft boards and locks up a spot in the first round by April 2012.
