I posted this in NFL zone, but now belongs here... QB Kellen Moore would be an ideal #3 QB, who could take Weeden's #2 job in short order. He played for Linehan at DET, so he knows his system. He lacks #1 QB arm strength, but he is as smart, well prepared as they come and throws his receivers open with anticipation. He is just like Jason Garrett was. An ideal #2 QB who will win you a few games when your starter is injured, not lose them like Weeden will. I hope this gets done...

Yes, please let this happen. Ship Weeden back to Cleveland.

I hate to pile on, I think we have seen the limits of Weeden, this makes sense. Only problem is getting him in here to learn the system not much time for him to practice now that the season has started.

One thing in Moore's favor is having played for Linehan for 2 years. Not the same "system" because Linehan adapted to Garrett's system, but I'm sure it's pretty close. Also, the kid is a brainiac and gym rat. He'd be up to speed in a few weeks IMO.

Rather have Austin Davis
He can throw the ball down the field
But neither is gonna happen
Weeden is gonna be the backup
If romo is injured and either is still out there then that could change

I think Moore could be a hell of a pick up for this team. His my not be Tom Brady or Manning but its good enough for the NFL.

But somehow not good enough for the Lions.

I'm no fan of Weeden, but there isn't anyone out there that is going to lead the Cowboys anywhere if Romo gets injured. Bring in Moore, but don't get fooled into thinking he is something special.

Same here. Would love to have Austin Davis here. He is like a younger Romo.

No one can replace Romo. But if he went down I want someone that won't throw the game away like what Weeden did last year.

Most guys who are available will do just that. Kellen Moore has never thrown a pass in the NFL. There is no reason to believe he won't be throwing games away.

I been over to the Lions blogs. To them it seem to have been politics playing over there. The lions resign or extended his contract this year but it was basically a minimal contract that did have some very little guaranteed. He was there when Linehan was in Detroit but once they clean house and Caldwell took over they probably didn't see a need for him since he never played. In short they may try to stash him on the PS.

I don't get why Austin Davis got cut. 85 Qb rating is pretty decent for a first year guy. He is a solid backup at the very least.

I rather take my chances on someone like Kellen Moore than someone like Weeden. We already know what Weeden can do. I've seen Kellen Moore play. He's not bad and doesn't panic like Weeden. Therefore, he would be worth a shot.

Well Floaty, you should be happy. It appears Kellen Moore has been signed to Dallas Cowboys practice squad.

I think this is true. Confused because I'm reading different things in different forums
