And if Romo does not go down and we are drafting in the 20s, how exactly are we going to get one of them?
I would much rather trade a single first round pick next year and swap with Cleveland this year instead of trading my whole draft and then some next year or the following year to get Romo's replacement.
Maybe that is just me.
Don't know how many times I have to say it, but you don't have to pick in top 5 to get a franchise QB.
All anyone has to do is look at all the drafts the last 10-15 years.
It would help to take one you feel is deserving usually sometime in the 1st or early 2nd preferably.
People are panicking.
Look where Dallas drafted each year in 1st round and see . If you want to throw in a 2nd or 3rd if they need to trade up to 9-10 or so,do.
In any case, you'll find more times than not, they would be fine.
Trading from 23 to 9 or whatever is a lot less than going from 4 to 2.
An identical cast is 27 up to 6....it just gets silly in the top 5.
They may end up fine, but these QBs are generally not considered super prospects by historical standards.
And if Romo
does play the whole season then you'd really be happy because the 7 mil per year clipboard holder wasn't needed
In the end, as I've said all along, if Dallas loves the QB available to the level they should for where they'll be taking him, I'm okay with it.
Just PLEASE don't take one just because you're drafting early.
That is a truly horrible reason.
