Am I the only one not overly impressed with Osweiller? Sure he has potential but Denver has a very good weapons and he wasn't overly impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't bust for the Texans.

He beat the Pats and was instrumental in the Broncs offense. He's no Brady or Roethlisberger but he's a gamer. Much better than any backup QB we had. The big deal about him in Denver was that he could take a hit and was smart about keeping the leads in close games.

I bet the Bucs are on the horn with Elway offering Mike Glennon (who everyone seems to have forgotten about).

If you were the Texans what would you have wanted them to do? I think they made a great move today, and that includes adding Miller.

They should have given him a 2 year extention before last season like we did with Romo in 2006

They used a mid round pick on him and he helped sustain them in a Super Bowl winning season. I fail to see the lament over the pick.

You want true regret? Try standing pat and waiting until Romo is done. Now you truly have no chance to compete until you find one.

Well, to be fair, most posters have been saying its not a bad idea to take a QB with a mid round pick, which is what the Broncos did. How would the Broncos feel if they had lost a first round pick after him sitting behind Elway?

I know there isn't a right or wrong answer to this. Both sides are right, and both sides are wrong. It worked out well for Green Bay with Rodgers, but if it hadn't it wouldn't have looked like a great idea after the fact. You don't have the benefit of hindsight when you agree to pay a QB 100 million dollars. That's one of the main reasons that teams start a young guy early on, they want to find out if the guy has what it takes early on while the cost is low before they have to get to that second contract.

Reading the Bronco's board it sounds like Osweiler didn't want to be there.

That's strange if he didn't want to be there he had success with the Broncos. Could be he was bitter they went back to Manning.

That's what some over there think. It's sort of petty if that's the case.

Yes, the trouble with that idea is that they were already super tight against the cap. The odds are that the Broncos let Osweiler walk because they felt like they could get a replacement for Osweiler in the draft for a lot less money than they would have spent to resign him. Paxton Lynch or Cook may both be available when they pick at 31. The Texans probably could have taken that approach and been much better off as well.

What ever QB Denver takes FA, you can bet they will draft one as well in the first few rounds. Elway is like a kid in a candy store with his QB's. He'll get the best out of who they get.
Manning was average in their playoff run, and they don't need a great QB to win games. They will keep building their defense and their offensive line does needs work.
Other than that they will still win 10+ games with the coaching/FO they have.

Texans are suckers. Can't believe they paid so much for a mediocre QB.

Draft is the only way to get a franchise QB if this is the price of a bus driver.

Broncos might actually end up upgrading their QB compared to Peyton/Osweiler. Osweiler was decent but he was still very raw - once defenses adjusted, he was exposed.

Instrumental? That offense stunk and he was benched for a guy that played worse than Matt Cassell statistically. The team that knows him the most, worked with him closely for the last four years just let him go when they have nobody.

He may be a good player, I just question that much of an investment from a player that was just above average as a starter on a team stacked with skill position players.

It appeared when Osweiler took over and started playing well that Manning might not get his job back. Osweiler probably believed that. Manning didn't have a great Super Bowl and I'm sure Osweiler probably felt with Denvers great defense that he could have led them to that championship.

It had to bother him some not getting the opportunity to play in in the Super Bowl but to want to leave over it is pretty silly. He left a Broncos team that he had a great opportunity to have success with but money talks. He may live to regret the decision if he fails in Houston.

Why would you unless they overpay you. You are following the footsteps of a 1st ballot HOF who just won the SB. Teammates are leaving for greener pasture. It's nothing but disappointment after that in Denver unless you can bring home another SB next year.

In Houston you potentially can be the savoir. Even a winning season or playoff birth would be satisfatory.

Sorry, but HOU overpaid big time. Maybe I'll eat my words, but I'm not betting on it.

Meh I think Osweiler is overrated. Especially with how much they paid him. He's not leading that team to a Super Bowl imo.
