QB Osweiller to Houston Texans *Mega Merge*

I cant believe the Broncos didnt tag him.

The fact that the Bronco's didn't tag him is very telling. They had him his whole career, they had the option to keep him but decided not to. They would rather not have a QB than this guy. I thought they would keep him for sure. But given that they let him walk tells me they do not think he is good or either a good fit for their team.

yeah they decided he was not the guy they wanted, or that he wasnt franchise type.
They didnt like something.

Idk what Denvers cap situation is but Houston has a ton, John McLain thinks they'll sign Lamar Miller as well

Oh, my bad they already did.

Instrumental? That offense stunk and he was benched for a guy that played worse than Matt Cassell statistically. The team that knows him the most, worked with him closely for the last four years just let him go when they have nobody.

He may be a good player, I just question that much of an investment from a player that was just above average as a starter on a team stacked with skill position players.

We'll see how it works out. It will be interesting.

We've actually been the 2nd place team, for years....or should I say 3rd place behind them and the Spurs! :(

Considering we have the better record than they do in EVERY category since their inception (including head to head and over all record), I beg to differ. They had a good season; we didn't. We'll move on.

The Texans did get their first win in franchise history against the Cowboys. Had to be one of the most embarrassing moments in Cowboys history to lose to an expansion team in their very first game.

For sure. It was humiliating. Thank you, Quincy Carter. I confronted Jerry about that the day I met him in a bar years ago bc I was so upset and he said, "I really don't know how the hexx we let that happen." Lol. And it's really all they talk about to this day. Actually, they published a whole nicely-photographed table book about it... blah....

They have been around for what, 14 years now and their biggest win is still the first game they ever played against a team that went 5-11. I would feel sorry for them if they weren't so pathetic

Their first win came against a Cowboys team that had been around for 42 years and went 5-11 for a third straight year. The Texans went 4-12 in their inaugural season. The Cowboys have been pretty pathetic the last couple of decades. Although the Texans haven't had much success in their 14 year history they haven't been as dysfunctional as a Cowboys.

That is soooooo Houston. Because Matt Schaub was such a huge success. They're the new Kansas City. Always looking for the short cut at quarterback.

So, hope you enjoyed that Super Bowl Denver.

Have fun with Kaepernick.

I can't believe Denver letting their starting QB walk unless they know something that other teams don't. I would have never believed that Denver let him hit the open market. Maybe Elway thinks he is smarter than the rest of the league.

The new deal is worth $72 million over four years -- including a $12 million signing bonus -- a source told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. NFL Media's Albert Breer reports the deal includes $37 million fully guaranteed in addition to $21 million in 2016 and $55 million in the first three years of his deal, according to a source informed of the contract.

"If we waited for the draft, we would have had to give up three picks to move up," McNair told the Houston Chronicle. "That's three quality players. Now we can take the best players."+

In the end, Brock Osweiler followed the money and bet on himself.

Houston's scheduled trip to Denver suddenly looks like a strong candidate to be the NFL Kickoff game in Week 1.

Roughly 18 mil a year for a guy that has only started 6 games! They also said they wanted him, so they saw something they liked.

I wonder if they are keeping weedon?
